Wednesday, August 28

7:08am 8/28/2024 Citizen Assist Cedar, Wife slipped from the chair and is on the floor. Not injured, just sitting there. 

9:31 a.m. — Empire Township Dogs have come to caller’s property this morning. Had a chicken in its mouth but they scared it off.

11:11 a.m. — Centerville Township Caller has a crew constructing a pole barn on her site. Neighbors keep harassing her work crew and coming onto the property to do it. Would like her trespassed and warned about harassment. (Neighbors were trespassed.)

12:26pm 8/28/2024 Info Northport, Someone knocking at door at 2am. Happened twice in last year. Heard male voice yelling. He left so she didn’t call. Just wants it logged– was advised to call when it is happening. 

Thursday, August 29

3:32pm 8/29/2024 Suspicious Incident Suttons Bay Twp., Man was there outside when a customer’s dog approached him. He was scared of the dog and pulled out a knife apparently to defend himself if necessary. He was asked to leave and departed in a black Ford with a female driver. 

4:21 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Employee did not show up for work. Bike is at his residence. Television is on. Not answering the door. (Met with subject. He is OK and declined any assistance.)

Friday, August 30

3:54pm 8/30/2024 MDOP Lake Leelanau, Caller is reporting two males, one on dirt bike and one on 4-wheeler. Tore up yard last night. Does not know who the subjects are. They drive up and down the road constantly. 

7:02 p.m. — Leland Township Caller reports he is still having issues with people parking on his lot. Caller would like some information on enforceable parking laws.

7:41 p.m. — Leland Township Large gathering next to caller’s residence. They are being very loud and the caller would like them to be asked to quiet down.

7:55 p.m. — Elmwood Township Caller had a vehicle speed through the neighborhood and go through his yard. His mailbox is in pieces and there are car parts there. Happened about 6 p.m.

8:32 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Maple subject either hit by a car and fallen off his bike or fallen off bike.

Saturday, August 31

1:10 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller reports sometime around 3 a.m., last night, a dark van pulled up to home. Turned lights off and on and continued driving around neighborhood. Two people in it.

3:36pm 8/31/2024 Suspicious Incident Northport, Caller came home to find her grandson’s electric truck missing from front porch, and the dog that was inside when they left, was outside

3:54 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller starts there are people fishing on his lake. (Subjects were advised that this isn’t a public lake.)

4 p.m. — Bingham Township Caller’s autistic son ran away. (Back with his family.)

7:06 p.m. — Leland Township Caller reports a Trump sign on a telephone or electric pole. Also a political sign on a road sign. Caller thinks it should be looked at as he believes it’s not legal.

10:04pm 8/31/2024 Citizen Assist S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller is reporting that his neighbors are coming onto his property at night and putting nails on his driveway. 

Sunday, September 1

1:15 a.m. — Leland Township Caller reports someone is being unruly, driving around in his electric truck. Driver arrested for operating while intoxicated.

1:20 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township Criminal sexual conduct reported.

10:25 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township Disorderly person.

10:51am Fire Smoke E Grandview Rd., Request Fire Department to speak with him because he is upset that the DNR is allowing burning during a drought.

4:17 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Male is arguing with girlfriend over the phone.

4:32 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township Juveniles jumping off the bridge.

6:53 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Neighbor dispute. Juveniles were yelling at each other.

9:09 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Loud music at a venue that is supposed to be done by 9 p.m. (Deputy sat in the area for a while. Noise level is not above talking.) Caller called back stating the party is starting up again. Deputy returned to the area and couldn’t hear anything. (Deputy spoke with caller about what constitutes disturbing the peace.)

Monday, September 2

11:36 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township Door is open but no one is around the restaurant and they are apparently closed today. (Owner arrived. Did a walk-though. Everything seems in order.)

Tuesday, September 3

11:13am 9/3/2024 Citizen Assist Empire Bluff Trl., 5 year old male got himself locked in the vault toilet. Called back, child is out. 

3:43pm 9/3/2024 Civil Kasson Twp., Brothers rent caller’s property to deer hunters. Both brothers claim the property is theirs. Both were informed that it is a civil matter to be handled through the courts.

Wednesday, September 4

9:07 a.m. — Leland Township Credit card fraud.

2:10pm 9/4/2024 Neighbor Cedar, Caller is trying to survey a property line and the adjacent property owner is following him around threatening to rip out the stakes. 

3:16pm 9/4/2024 MVCPP Maple City., Caller was parked at school and someone hit his car, the car is still there and they left a note without contact information. 

7:01pm 9/4/2024 Building Check Leelanau Cty., Caller saw on her camera that a woman was walking around her cottage at 2pm and she does not recognize her. She would like the home checked to make sure everything is still secure. Front door was closed but not locked. 

9:13 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Caller is moving out of her mother’s house. She has lived there for 32 years. She has questions about her rights as a renter. (Per law enforcement, advised of her rights.)

11:28pm 9/4/2024 Suspicious Incident Suttons Bay Twp., Caller is reporting a male parked up the road, has a flashlight out and is looking at the neighbor’s cars. Been there 10 minutes, possibly a truck. The male states he works for the company that owns the property. There will be more people there tomorrow. 

Thursday, September 5

11:06 a.m. — Kasson Township School bus violation.

5:15pm 9/5/2024 Larceny Leelanau Twp., Had a laptop on the porch, went to Northport this morning, on return it was missing.

11:12 p.m. — Solon Township Individual on his ORV, back in the woods north of caller’s property. Harassing the caller with his presence. Caller feels uptight about it and threatened. (Nothing criminal per law enforcement.

Friday, September 6

8:25am 9/6/2024 Break and Enter Glen Arbor Twp., Door to well house has been pried open, property damage.

12:46pm 9/6/2024 Info W Fourth St., Man came up to window and called her names and took photos of her because her dog barked at him.

Saturday, September 7

12:32am 9/7/2024 Suspicious Incident S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller is at a house next door, he is reporting someone banging on the doors, screaming at someone to open the door. Civil issue. 

7:57 p.m. — Solon Township Caller is requesting a welfare check on her son. (Everything is OK, per law enforcement.)

8:35pm 9/7/2024 Noise Leelanau Twp., Barn is playing loud music. Caller lives nearby and would like it turned down. Advised that there isn’t a specific noise ordinance that is law enforceable in the county. He would like someone to go and speak with him and “hear how loud it is”. Advised to contact the township board to reference his grievance. 

Sunday, September 8

5:28 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township Purse taken from public restroom. Caller’s phone was in her purse. (Caller called back to state she found the purse.)

8:03 p.m. — Leland Township Caller believes her purse was likely stolen out of their gray Porsche parked on M-204.

Monday, September 9

3:56am 9/9/2024 Break Enter Leelanau Cty., Someone is on front porch trying to get inside, have been for about 10 minutes.

6:33pm 9/9/2024 Harassment Suttons Bay Twp., Caller would like to speak with an officer about neighbor trespassing on his property, recording him, and flipping him off.
