7:31am 4/23/2024 Animal Control Leland Twp., Mottled dark brown and gray or black horse running along the side of the road.

6:38am 4/25/2024 Road Hazard N West-Bay Shore Dr., Injured raccoon in the middle of the road.

Thursday, April 25

7:11am 4/25/2024 Alarm Suttons Bay Twp., Ongoing construction project there, may be mice setting off the alarm. Will talk with homeowner about nuisance alarms. Will check system.

2:33pm 4/25/2024 Disorderly Lake Leelanau, Patient inside has dementia, son is belligerent with mom in room. He tried to take her shoe off, yelling at her. 

Friday, April 26

12:56 a.m. — Bingham Township Caller saw two people on his property and thinks they were trying to let his dogs out. They left his house southbound on foot.

1:01 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller would like to remove a 2007 Jeep that’s been abandoned on his lot for eight years.

3:56 p.m. — Cleveland Township Grass fire. Approximately one acre in size. Houses nearby but no on fire. No residential exposures at this point. (Request Consumers for power line down, pole to pole.)

5:54 p.m. — Centerville Township Wife went out for a walk this morning and isn’t back yet. Frequently walks around the fields and sometimes into the woods.

10:13 p.m. — Kasson Township Caller reports wife took his car and dog. ( Caller called back. Just a miscommunication.)

Saturday, April 27

12:29pm 4/27/2024 Building Check Lake Leelanau, Caller not home, has Ring camera inside that had alarm go off. Per 45-05 everything secure on walkthrough. 

3:05 p.m. — Cleveland Township Large freighter inbound toward shore. A check of marinevesseltraffic.com shows it’s the “Saginaw”, a 63-foot bulk ore carrier. Status has gone from “underway” to “stopped.” Likely seeking refuge from high winds in the Manitou Passage. (Vessel is anchored and secure. Will likely be there until winds subsides.)

3:26 p.m. — Empire Township Some, trees on fire. Wires involved. (Consumers contacted. Both primary lines are down. Starting more fires.)

8:40pm 4/27/2024 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Caller left car with keys inside, parked at Community Center, thinks someone stole the keys. 

9:14 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller heard impact of a car on the road. Swerved into caller’s yard. Hit a deer and then left. Possible a dark SUV or minivan.

Sunday, April 28

7:08am 4/28/2024 Threats Suttons Bay Twp., Made threats toward staff.

11:31 a.m. — Leland Township Caller and her mother are very concerned about an excavator digging on land in the area of the south pier in Leland Harbor. (Township decision to move some sand.)

12:43pm 4/28/2024 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Mom drove on suspended license to see his dad. 

Monday, April 29

2:51 p.m. — Cleveland Township Caller is staying at cottages. Noticed a rowboat washing up during high winds.

5:30 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller says aunt took guns from his home. Would like to speak with law enforcement about his options.

7:08:16PM 4/29/2024 PAROLEVIOL Leelanau Cty., Male is threatening to shoot up the place entering from the south doors of the building with tribal units. Units can slow making contact with someone at south entrance, apparently they were doing a drill that not all the staff was aware of. 

Tuesday, April 30

5:59 a.m. — Elmwood Township Vehicle at the park. Possibly someone sleeping. Warned about no overnight camping.

7:24am 4/30/2024 Leave Scene Leelanau Cty., Someone hit mailbox, road sign and pasture fence. Happened around 11pm. No status needed. Silver vehicle damage to front right passenger headlight. Damage to sign. 

6:17pm 4/30/2024 Larceny Leelanau Cty., Stole her tip money– a month's worth happened 2 hours ago. Clear with a report. 

Wednesday, May 1

4:50am 5/1/2024 Animal Control Empire Twp., 2 bulls in the road. 

9:13am 5/1/2024 Citizen Assist Elmwood Twp., Someone took her key fob.

9:45 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township Wellness check request. Caller has been banging on the door and no response. Car is parked there. (Nothing found.)

2:02 p.m. — Leelanau Township Subject with minor hand injury stopped in at fire station. Refuses transport.

11:56 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township Caller’s son took her 2007 Ford Explorer, beige. He wanted to go to Traverse City. (Deputies stopped the vehicle on M-72, near Bright Road. Family friend showed up to speak with the subject.)

Thursday, May 2

8:59 a.m. — Leelanau Township Parking issue on Omena Point Road. Construction workers were instructed to keep all of their vehicles on one side of the road to allow for emergency vehicle passage.

9:02am 5/2/2024 Welfare Check Leelanau Cty., Called out by GTB08, checking on a report of a toddler walking around unattended. Child is home with grandmother and is fine. 

11:28 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township Someone hit the building. No injuries reported.

11:45am 5/2/2024 Welfare Check Lake Leelanau, Caller received a direct call for a welfare check, had made statements about harming himself. Met with mim, is out with his father running errands until approximately 1500 hours. Will stop back then. Denies making any harmful statements. Will update caller. 

Friday, May 3

12:45am 5/3/2024 Suspicious Incident S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller reports someone standing in the middle of the road on SWBS, jumping in the road just south of the hilltop, seemed like they were doing it on purpose. Looked like a male, taller, skinny, light skin weaning dark clothing with a beanie, caller had to slow and swerve not to hit them. Did not stop. In the area, drove through a couple of times, will check Hilltop Road and boat launch, will be clear.

1:07 p.m. — Centerville Township Scammer gained access to an email string and contacted the caller for a down payment. Got suspicious and contacted the real contractor by phone.

1:44 p.m. — Leland Township Cows in the road.

Saturday, May 4

1:51 p.m. — Leland Township Subject stopped in the Sheriff’s Office to report a cow in the road, south of Lake Leelanau about 1/2-mile and then west.

1:54 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township  Staff member having a psychotic problem. (Taken in to custody.)

4:06 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Two subjects fighting in the road. Both parties had been riding the BATA bus and were dropped off.

Sunday, May 5

7:03 a.m. — Bingham Township Loud boat complaint.

1:16 p.m. — Elmwood Township Ongoing problem with long term parking along the roadway. Trucks and trailers.

6:16 p.m. — Leland Township Handgun in holster found in the restroom.

Monday, May 6

6:01am 5/6/2024 Domestic Lake Leelanau, Caller advised her ex is intoxicated and is threatening her. 

9:51 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township Someone broke into the Bahle warming hut and did some damage to the building.

10:39am5/6/2024 Family Trouble Lake Leelanau, Couple screaming, can hear female through the woods and she went into a house. No assault, parties will separate for the afternoon. 

10:57 a.m. — Leelanau Township Caller got a letter from AT&T that her information has been compromised. Became suspicious and contacted bank directly. Has not lost any money but would like to speak with law enforcement about the notifications she received.

12:11 p.m. — Kasson Township Customer involved in scam. Mailing debit card.

2:57pm 5/6/2024 Welfare Lake Leelanau, Sister keeps calling her saying she feared for her life. 

4:27 p.m. — Elmwood Township Subject received a text from “Huntington Fraud” asking if she made charges at CVS. Said they would walk her through transferring her money into another account.

4:44pm 5/6/2024 Animal Control Bingham Twp., Neighbor’s dogs are always barking, not sure if they are being cared for, currently one of them appears to be stuck in some “netting”. 

5:09 p.m. — Solon Township  Air B&B ring camera showed a man walking around the front and side of the house. No car in the driveway.

Tuesday, May 7

2:37 p.m. — Kasson Township Employee took check book that belongs to the caller and wrote over $1,000 in checks.
