Tuesday, August 13

4:30pm 8/13/2024 Harassment Leelanau Cty., Someone was threatening caller’s wife but it was a prank call– has the person’s number.

Wednesday, August 14

9:12 a.m. — Empire Township Neighbor’s dog was in caller’s chicken coop. At least one bird deceased.

11:09am 8/14/2024 Suspicious Vehicle S West-Bay Shore Dr., Two vehicles parked next door that are suspicious, been parked there for several days and it appears each has someone living in it. 

12:02 p.m. — Bingham Township Caller says the corner south of his house is dangerous and people often go off the road. Would like patrols toknowaboutit. Healso aseked about speed limit signs for the concern and was referred to the Road Commission.

2:21pm 8/14/2024 Obstruction Suttons Bay Twp., Witness tampering.

4:47 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Illegal dumping from homeowner. They have overloaded dumpster. (Law enforcement spoke with both parties. They will remove the unauthorized items by noon tomorrow. Caller agreed to that plan and will contact law enforcement if other party does not comply.)

4:50pm 8/14/2024 Trespassing E Bingham Rd., There is a man that walks on their lawn, when asked not to, he flipped her off and said he can walk wherever he wants. Would like to see law enforcement as this has happened before with him and is feeling threatened. 

Thursday, August 15

12:44 a.m. — Leelanau Township Caller advises there is a white van parked where the rental vehicles are supposed to be parked. Caller is not from the area and does not feel comfortable because she read about all the vehicle crimes that happen in the area.

Friday, August 16

12:49pm 8/16/2024 Trespassing Lake Leelanau, Neighbor tore up 30 trees that were on his property, caller wants them trespassed. 

1:11 p.m. — Elmwood Township Caller says her mom wasn’t feeling well. Not answering her phone. (Per law enforcement, she’s just fine. Battery on her phone died. She will call her daughter.)

1:48 p.m. — Leelanau Township Four youths wearing black hoodies were seen around 5:30 this morning. Trying to use a golf cart. They were chased off by a boater.

4:48 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township Caller saw a person walking around on camera. Wearing khaki pants and yellow shirt. (Contacts on the scene stated that the property was secure.)

11:06pm 8/16/2024 Citizen Assist Elmwood Twp., Caller was at the park with her daughter who was playing with another child. Caller noticed later that money was missing from her purse.

Sunday, August 18

7:54 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller reports a trespasser on his property. Says trespasser is fishing on a private lake.

8:05pm 8/18/2024 Trespassing Leland, Two teenagers are at abandoned house parting, have backpacks. Caller advised this is an ongoing issue. 

8:51 p.m.— Empire Township Caller is reporting his son will not leave his house. (One in custody.)

Monday, August 19

2:41 a.m. — Cleveland Township Neighbor is running a front end loader moving wood chips around his property.

8:45 a.m. — Bingham Township Tractor was driving in front of the caller. Driver passed him because he didn’t have a blinker and then he ran into caller’s rear end.

Tuesday, August 20

2:02pm 8/20/2024 Dumping E traverse Hwy., Someone dumped a large light blue kitchen garbage on side of road, they don’t feel comfortable going to check it out. 

Wednesday, August 21

5:13 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township Gray Mercedes SUV with bike rack is parked in a spot that is supposed to be for boat trailers only. Caller says there’s no where to park. Says it’s been an ongoing issue.

8:11 p.m. — Leland Township Caller would like parking lot at the Leland Harbor checked for son’s vehicle. White, Jeep Cherokee. Son spent the week on South Manitou and caller’s cannot get a hold of him.

11:52pm 8/21/2024 Suspicious Incident Suttons Bay Twp., Calling on behalf of friend. Female at this residence thinks someone may be breaking in. 45-27 advised, they are on the scene. 

Thursday, August 22

10:20am 8/22/2024 Larceny Northport, Caller had items stolen from the farmers market last Friday.

11:38 a.m. — Empire Township Nurse would like a welfare check on female who seemed confused on the phone.

5:28 p.m. — Bingham Township Caller’s purse fell out of her car when she was checking her mail and it is gone. (Caller believes someone picked it up out of the road. Neighbors found it.)

7:36 p.m. — Empire Township Caller went to old address to retrieve some packages. She advised the boxes were left on the porch and empty.

9:46 p.m. — Solon Township Disorderly person. Subject not being cooperative. Taken into custody.

Friday, August 23

2:18am 8/23/2024 Suspicious Vehicle Leelanau Cty., Vehicle sitting at this intersection with its lights on 15-20 minutes.

9:53 a.m. — Cleveland Township Computer scam.

10:02 a.m. — Solon Township Ten to 15 cats in various sizes. Emaciated.

2:50pm 8/23/2024 Animal Control Lime Lake, Bullet wound on his cat. Animal is still alive and being examined by his daughter, a medical person. Caller is going to take the cat to a vet to determine what happened to it. Per Bay Area Pet Hospital, full x-ray and exam was done, determined not to be a gunshot wound, likely an animal attack.

6 p.m. — Cleveland Township Deputy out with two young children standing down by the road with no one around. (Spoke with the adults there and gave them a warning about the kids being so close to the road.)

6:14pm 8/23/2024 Trespassing Elmwood Twp., Caller advised that he had seen a male walking on his property per his trail cam. The caller has had tools stolen in the past and would like to know what steps he should take.

8:48 p.m.— Glen Arbor Township 911 hangup. Open line. No sounds of distress “but rather a family enjoying the dunes.” No emergency.

9:10 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township Caller’s son left about 7 p.m. to bike the Heritage Trail and bike into town. White male, 13. Phone pinged an hour ago near the dunes. (Subject found without incident.)

11:48pm 8/23/2024 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Cty., Caller was sitting in living room and heard a noise downstairs, she is all alone. In bedroom with door locked. Home is secure, will be clear no report.

Saturday, August 24

5:18pm 8/24/2024 Animal Control S Elmwood Twp., Found chaos running around. Will return.

9:22 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Fight at a birthday party. No weapons known. One of the siblings left the property.

11:07 p.m. — Leelanau Township Caller advised her neighbor came over and started yelling at them about their barking dog. She wants someone to talk to her neighbor.

11:22 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Red passenger van with tinted windows has been parked at church since 5 p.m. Caller says he has not left and she has been watching him for hours. (Subject attended a service there earlier. Will head to another church in Grand Traverse County.)

Sunday, August 25

12:55 a.m. — Bingham Township Two males on caller’s property. Sounds like they may be playing on her kids’ swing set. Caller thinks they left 10 minutes ago.

4 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township  Man is playing loud music at Old Settlers. Homeowner across the street went and asked him to turn it down and he turned it up louder. Homeowner was not comfortable taking it further. Would like someone to check it out. (Per caller, noisemakers left.)

12:09pm 8/25/2024 Family Trouble Leelanau Cty., “Husband is being a jerk - nevermind, bye.” Will go to check with female half. 

4:59pm 8/25/2024 Citizen Assist Deyoung Natural Area, Scared there is a bear next to him in the bush. Hears growling. Was advised to stay on the phone while he walked back to his car and make a lot of noise doing it. Caller said nevermind, it was his cousin pranking him.

Monday, August 26

12:49am 8/26/2024 Suspicious Incident Empire Twp., Received 911 call report from this address and immediately heard an angry scream in the background, caller asked for address to confirm and female caller said, “We don’t need any help, they're just reacting to me now.” and hung up.

10:50am 8/26/2024 Welfare Check Leelanau Cty., Brother called his mother, caller doesn’t know but would likely be drinking, possible violation of controlled substance act. Does not live here anymore, there are no children where he is and no kids. Family is trying to get a hold of him and will try calling where he supposedly works.

4:19 p.m. — Cleveland Township Suspicious incident. Caller has personal protection order against someone and while he was on a walk, he came back and discovered his glass table was shattered. Just wanted it documented. No suspicious vehicles or items that would have broke the table.

11:17 p.m. — Leland Township Loud music coming from nearby residence. Caller would like them to be kindly asked if they could turn it down. (Law enforcement doesn’t hear any noise coming from the area in question.)
