Monday, August 22
1:18:11am 8/22/2022 Trespassing Elmwood Twp., Male on the property may be intoxicated. Believes it is his neighbor. Refusing to get off reporting party’s property.
10:59:19am 8/22/2022 Motor Vehicle Collision Empire, Two vehicle crash; DTE pole broken and vehicle on top of fire hydrant.
2:05:16pm 8/22/2022 Disorderly Elmwood Twp., Two males yelling, caller can hear them in her backyard. Things seem calm for the moment. Two men were arguing about noise disturbances in the neighborhood, they do not need assistance from law enforcement.
4:19:24pm 8/22/2022 Animal at Large S. Schomberg Rd., Cow in the road.
5:04:22pm 8/22/2022 Found Property Good Harbor Beach, Found wallet, keys and phone. Owner called the cell phone; will be returning to the beach to return the property.
6:55:10pm 8/22/2022 Sick Person S. Kasson St., Cedar Area Fire & Rescue called over the radio with a walk-in patient. Help arrived.
Tuesday, August 23
10:09:44am 8/23/2022 Illegal Camping Shalda Creek, Vehicle parked off the road with a with tent pitched next to it 1/4 mile past Shalda Creek. Subjects are tribal members and are claiming treaty rights. National Park Service consulted with Tribal police and confirmed that they are allowed to camp.
11:38:51am 8/23/2022 Suspicious Incident S. Shore Dr., Left for about an hour and half, upon arrival found what appears to have been a bullet shot into his house and a glass table is shattered. Table is shattered but no evidence of a gunshot was found. Interviewed neighbors, none of whom heard any gun fire. Keep as suspicious as there are still no answers to the broken table.
Wednesday, August 24
2:50 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Couple having a domestic incident. Both parties uncooperative; declining medical attention. EMS called back after female tried to choke herself with seatbelt. Female detained and restrained. Sent to Munson Medical Center.
9:19 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller had property stolen while it was trying to move out. Upright freezer, two grills, riding lawn mover and wood chipper.
9:37 a.m. —Elmwood Township — Caller is being harassed by someone who is sending pictures of her vehicle to people in the community.
11:17 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller advises it looked like someone tried to get into cottage using a crowbar.
4:08 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller advises his older daughter sent a video of her babysitting three kids while mom and boyfriend are at work. The daughter is only 10. (Per law enforcement male of couple home and mom had just left for work.)
6:29 p.m. — Centerville Township — Subject walking down French Road. Intoxicated and wearing gray shirt, dragging a suitcase. Subject dropped off near Traverse City.
Thursday, August 25
2:56 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller reports loud music. (Law enforcement found source of the music. Asked subjects to turn it down.)
8:51 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Homeless man sleeping in marina park hammock. Caller is concerned about waking him up.
10:34 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Customer left purse with credit card on Thursday.
12: 17 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Subject sitting on bench in front of store harassing customers. (No longer present per law enforcement.)
6:26 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Male with blood on his hands after falling from bike. Caller called back and advised the male got on his bike and fell off again.
7:51 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller found bullet on the floor, in front of coolers. (Per law enforcement, it was a .22 caliber round that fell out of someone’s pocket. Will dispose of later.)
8:24 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Vehicle in the state park parking lot with all its doors open. Caller thought it was strange.
8:47 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Wave runner out on Cedar Lake after dark. This is the same person who was involved two to three weeks ago.
10:23 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Five or six golf carts just traveled at a high rate of speed with loud music playing. Going to Vic Steimel Park.
10:32 p.m. — Centerville Township — Loud techno music coming from the south.
Friday, August 26
1:24 a.m. — Kasson Township — Caller’s neighbor is playing really loud music. Law enforcement spoke with caller. Music stopped 10 minutes earlier.
2:08 p.m. — Leland Township — Sailboat flipped over. Other boaters assisted and transported the occupants back to shore and towing the boat. Made it to shore. One individual cut his hand but does not want medical assistance. Going to hospital in private vehicle.
7:15 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller is being threatened by her nephew. Last contacted her just prior to call. He was rambling about meth and assault and battery in the past. Caller says she’s autistic and is too traumatized to read the message from her nephew. (There are not threats here. Caller has been drinking and was told not to drink anymore tonight.)
10:31 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller has trapped a red diamond back rattlesnake and would like assistance removing it. (It was a baby Michigan rattlesnake, secure inside a box in the vehicle, and will be dropped off in the wild somewhere.)
Saturday, August 27
9:11 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Duck and 12 ducklings in caller’s yard.
1:51 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller found envelope with cash. Some illegible writing on envelope.
5:32 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Green Subaru pulled out in front of caller. Speeding. Caller called back to report that she followed the vehicle to the soccer field at Suttons Bay School. She would “very much” like to speak to a deputy about the incident. (Young driver apologized for his driving. Caller was satisfied with the apology and doesn’t want to pursue anything further.)
5:36 p.m. — Empire Township — Possible malicious destruction of property. Subject with large pick ax, hitting retaining wall. (Deputy unable to locate damage to the wall.)
8:16 p.m. — Kasson Township — Daughter stated someone stopped by the house and left her name and number. Said that she had lived there before and that the house had burned down. Concerned that she may be scoping out the house. Subject did have a piece of mail that was delivered per the post office. According to the landlord, that person has never lived there and the house never burned down.
Wednesday, Aug. 31
9:27 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller’s neighbor across the street has a lot of dogs. Would like a call from animal control to address barking which is an “every day” thing.
11:30 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Truck half-way in the road. Male in the vehicle is OK. Still in the vehicle but not pinned. Can’t get out because his dog is on his lap and doesn’t want to get out.
Thursday, Sept. 1
3:51 p.m. — Kasson Township — Large brown dog and large white dog on caller’s property chasing chickens and his cat. Caller advised the white dog ran off. Brown dog is laying under a tree and he looks dehydrated.
7:47:09pm 9/1/2022 Fire S. West-Bay Shore Drive, Large fire behind the garage, south of Suttons Bay Animal Hospital. It is a large trash fire that we will be extinguishing; Illegal burn of construction materials was taking place, advise DNR of illegal burn.
8:17:47pm 9/1/2022 Misc. Juvenile West Bay Shore Drive, A couple teenage boys jumping off the coal docks.
10:08:37pm 9/1/2022 Animal at Large S, Kasben Road, Cow in the middle of the road- walking all over. Completely black, travelling west on the road. Dispatch made contact with owner and he advised that they were coming to get the cow
Friday, Sept. 2
12:04 a.m. — Leland Township — Hyundai Sonata looks like they were going off road. Driving with flashers on. (Per law enforcement, vehicle was just a lost driver. Given directions to Traverse City.)
1:49 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller advises when he got home approximately at 1:15, he heard an older woman yelling for help. Does not appear to be injured. She seems confused. Said the woman was renting a home in the area and doesn’t remember her address. (Law enforcement checking on some short-term rentals in Suttons Bay. Door was unlocked and light is on. Personal items in the area belong to the subject.)

9:17:18AM 9/2/2022 Traumatic Injury Cherry Bend Road, Cyclist fell, injured leg.
11:57:11am 9/2/2022 Falls E. Traverse Highway, Fell broken teeth.
2:41:04pm 9/2/2022 Traffic Stop Suttons Bay, Golf cart.
3:34:54pm 9/2/2022 Water Rescue Glen Haven Beach, Sees two kayakers (inflatable) one flipped and blew away. Other being blown away. Both in PDF. Coast Guard was notified; out with the kayakers. Enroute back with two to the boat launch.
4:26:11pm 9/2/2022 Misc. Juvenile Leland, Several kids jumping off the bridge in Leland. They were asked to stop by a Leland Firefighter and they did not listen.
4:38:04pm 9/2/2022 Water Rescue Northport, Two paddle boarders, no PDFs about a mile offshore and look to be struggling. Coast Guard was notified, then advised that the paddle boarders made it to shore.
10:29:38pm 9/2/2022 Suspicious Incident Glen Arbor, Big green barn that's padlocked shut but thinks someone is in there, walking by and heard someone shaking the door from the inside. Just the wind moving the door.
11:33 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Female has been drinking. Yelling at the caller when the caller said he was going to report her. Did not want to speak with a deputy about the situation. Just wanted to advise of violation of bond. (Subject’s PBT .128. Taken into custody.)
Saturday, Sept. 3
10:48:59am 9/3/2022 Found Dog S. Lake Shore Drive, Chocolate lab. No collar. "Norman" reunited with his humans.
11:30:40am 9/3/2022 Citizen Assist S. West-Bay Shore Drive, Democratic party display. Male in white pickup being argumentative. Caller thought he had left but she couldn't see his truck from where she was. Apparently, he is still there and causing a disturbance. The subject has left. 45-05 spoke with male subject at his residence and informed him that his actions were uncalled for and he agreed to not go back.
1:30 p.m. — Kasson Township — Male struck caller while arguing. He’s outside now trying to get his black Ford Taurus started. Having mechanical issues.
1:34:43pm 9/3/2022 Suspicious Incident Centerville Twp. Reporting party has nest security camera. Tripped 8 min ago. Looked at live feed, flip flops and dog going in and out of her front porch. Could only see feet. Change to suspicious. No sign of forced entry or anything missing. Looks like they entered the first door to knock on the second door.
2:22:32pm 9/3/2022 Suspicious Incident Centerville Twp., Heard woman screaming for her life from a railer in back. Two people called reporting party in last 15 min to inform him. 45-19: people were having a good time last night. Heard screaming in woods. Looked around but didn’t find anything.
2:42:56pm 9/3/2022 Unconscious Suttons Bay, On patio unresponsive.
8:35:23pm 9/3/2022 Animal Bite N. Lake Leelanau Drive, Son and his dog were both attacked by pitbull. Son and dog were out in the yard when dog came over and attacked. Son and dog are currently in Traverse being treated. Dog is being treated at Bay Area Pet Hospital. Son was bit was on his hand.
10:00:25pm 9/3/2022 Illegal Camping S. Bohemian Road, Someone camping at the end of Bohemian. Subject rode his bike from Traverse City. Subject will stay at the end of 669. He has a bicycle with him and it would be unsafe to send him away at night. He will be staying on a concrete slab near a picnic table. He was advised to be gone by morning
Sunday, Sept. 4
1:44:07am 9/4/2022 OWI S. West-Bay Shore Drive, On sobriety. One in custody.
8:21:17am 9/4/2022 Suspicious Incident Glen Arbor, Hears children screaming “get off of me.” Also hears an adult. Hears crying now. In the area. Learned that it is a rental, a youth there got a fishhook stuck in his hand. A nurse was there and tended to the injury while the youth was screaming out in pain.
11:31:13am 9/4/2022 Traffic Violation E. Otto Road, 8-10 sports bikes excess of 100mph.
12:19 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Blind dog off leash, ran into caller’s leg.
2:39:58pm 9/4/2022 Audible Alarm Leland Twp., Floating along and heard a house alarm sound off. Responding and made contact with the homeowner. He set off the alarm because he believes people are mooring illegally in front of his home and dock.
4:25:33pm 9/4/2022 Water Rescue S. Manitou Island Bay, Three people in dingy, two people jumped out with life jackets trying to swim to shore, between the island dock and the bay. Coast Guard notified. NPS advises that the two persons that initially jumped overboard are now safely ashore.
5:19 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller needs assistance with eviction of stepson. Caller has a court hearing to remove the subject, who was supposed to be gone yesterday. But he’s still on the premises. (Left on his own, per law enforcement.)
6:35:56pm 9/4/2022 Traumatic Injury N. Lake Leelanau Drive, Possibly a broken leg from a wakeboarding incident.
6:57 p.m. — Solon Township — Man in a white vehicle is parked at the end of caller’s driveway taking pictures of his house. Caller doesn’t need to be seen. Just wanted to make a report.
7:00:25pm 9/4/2022 Citizen Assist N. Manitou Trail, Hawk is injured, but still alive. Caller was out for a run and found it. Spoke with rehabilitator who will give the reporting party a call about the bird.
Monday, Sept. 5
4:55 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller request patrols to be complete in the area during storm or aurora night for safety reasons. Caller also informed Park Service about the goin’s on. Caller advised handicap parking was being used improperly and creating a hazard. Caller advised that it was not a problem now that dawn is approaching.
1:42:32pm 9/5/2022 Citizen Assist Empire Bluff Trail, Three guys flying drones.
2:44 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Family of caller’s wife came into her side of the home accusing her of taking items.
8:47:58pm 9/5/2022 Suspicious Incident North Bar Lake, Five guys are between caller and her car, she is uncomfortable walking to her car. Per NPS05 met with someone at north bar who had video footage of the incident. Will be checking the area for a white Chevy pickup and a lime green SUV.
10:33:49pm 9/5/2022 OWI E. Traverse Highway, On sobriety. One in custody.
