Tuesday, December 3

12:14am 12/3/2024 Welfare Ceck Empire Twp., Subject hasn’t been responding to calls or texts, caller is now at the house pounding on the door and no one is answering. Car is in the driveway.

9:43am 12/3/2024 Info Lake Leelanau, Engine “blew up” so caller left their car in a parallel parking spot. Tow truck may not get there until tomorrow.

2:34pm 12/3/2024 Trespassing Leelanau Cty., Neighbor just drove across the caller’s property. Has signs posted. Spoke to all parties, it was an inspector who didn't know, but still no one is happy. All neighbors have been warned to stay on their side.

Wednesday, December 4

9:18 a.m. — Bingham Township Business has taken payment a year in advance.

9:39 a.m. — Empire Township Female requests a welfare check on children. Referred to Child Protective Services if she has concerns for her children’s welfare.

11:57 a.m. — Kasson Township Semi jack-knifed. Vehicle is off the road, not damaged.

1:03pm 12/4/2024 Family Trouble Leelanau Cty., Parents wont let caller leave the house, will call police if she leaves. Caller wants police to come.

2:40 p.m. — Cleveland Township Twelve kids on the front side of the hill. Can see persons, including older folks, on the hill. (Law enforcement will stop and speak with the caller.)

Thursday, December 5

6:42 a.m. — Kasson Township Three vehicles stuck in ditch. No damage. Tow approximately one hour out.

7:04 a.m. — Kasson Township Blue Subaru Outback parked on the road causing trouble for snowplows.

6:54pm 12/5/2024 Welfare Check Leland, Vehicle parked across the street, caller spoke with subject and he just didn’t seem “alright”. Has been there 15 minutes, head bobbing up and down.

Friday, December 6

4:12pm 12/6/2024 Larceny Cedar, Food truck. Someone stole the power cable.

5:42 p.m. — Centerville Township Someone dumped an illegally harvested deer on caller’s property. Pulled up in a white Ford Super Duty. Got out. Dumped deer and left.

6:29 p.m. — Leland Township Subject has not been seen since yesterday. No lights on in the house. (Patient contact was made. All units can go nonemergent.

9:27pm 12/6/2024 Suspicious Incident Grelickville, Caller is reporting hearing what sounds like someone using an electric saw in her house but no one else should be there except her. No one is in house, it was an issue with the furnace.

10:23 p.m. — Solon Township Caller advises there is a man outside her house.

Saturday, December 7

10:27am 12/7/2024 Suspicious Incident Greilickville, Car parked at the intersection, young male, possibly asleep in the vehicle. Spoke with him, said he was okay, caller then watched him move the car a little. Seemed like he was “going through something”.

11:08 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township Youths trespassing on property. (Caller doesn’t need to be seen. Just wants it on the record.)

8:08 p.m. — Solon Township Suspicious incident.

Sunday, December 8

11:45 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township Between Maple Grove Cemetery and the Scenic Drive, group of trucks set up to chase deer across the road and one gentleman has a firearm on a tripod aimed to shoot across the roadway.

12:57 p.m. — Solon Township German Shepherd wearing a harness with a cone, wandering around.

Monday, December 9

10:27 a.m. — Empire Township Caught a feral cat and is now unsure what to do. Would like some advice.

11:00am 12/9/2024 Suspicious Incident Leelanau Twp., Earlier today caller was on a tractor when an individual passed him and flashed what he believed to be a handgun. Would like to speak with the Leelanau Deputy about the incident.

2:33pm 12/9/2024 Traffic Violation S West Bay-Shore Dr., Truck with trailer, swerving all over the yellow line. Varying speeds.

5:47 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Caller reports fraud on his bank account. Someone got in and was moving money around online.

7:08 p.m. — Elmwood Township Disorderly person.

Wednesday, December 11

10:00am 12/11/2024 Assist Dept S Center Hwy., Grand Traverse County requested T&N for found dog in their county.

1:10 p.m. — Empire Township Caller has been contacted by collections regarding a bank and in Ohio stating that she overdrew checking and savings account.

6:08 p.m. — Elmwood Township Theft by employee. One in custody.

Thursday, December 12

6:58am 12/12/2024 Alarm S Manitou Trl., Alarm doors and windows are secure, there is a slider that is cracked.

10:58 a.m. — Solon Township Caller slid through the intersection and took out a sign. Vehicle is stuck. Vehicle damaged. Road shut down temporarily. (Vehicle out of the ditch. Road Commission called about sign.)

2:17pm 12/12/2024 Road Hazard Northport, Farmer piling snow up in front of the stop sign. No snow pile blocking the road or sign, there is a small pile on the side of the road by the exit of his barn.

3:42 p.m. — Leelanau Township Green Dodge truck swerving on and off the road. Hit a mailbox and continued on. Caller advised the truck has a damaged mirror. The male driver did stop in Omena to put a plastic bag over it and he looked out of sorts.

4:35pm 12/12/2024 Citizens Assist Northport, Caller’s dog got his paw stuck in the fence at the dog park and she needs wire cutters to free his paw.

Friday, December 13

8:37 a.m. — Leland Township Subject tearing up the room. Leland School placed in secure mode.

9:07 a.m. — Leland Township Above subject taken into protective

9:47 a.m. — Leland Township Subject came to Sheriff’s Office to report on ongoing, escalating problems with a neighbor.

10:11 a.m. — Bingham Township Someone in Santa Barbara, California created a total of eight fraudulent checks. The bank is investigating and is requesting a police report.

Saturday, December 14

2:09 a.m. — Solon Township Caller would like someone to check on his wife.

1:07 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Caller is being threatened to have children taken away. Referred to Friend of the Court for child custody issues.

6:59 p.m. — Elmwood Township Neighbor dispute over tractor parked in shared driveway. Would like to speak with a deputy about options. (Spoke with caller. Will head to location and try to make contact with parties.)

10:18pm 12/14/2024 Noise Solon Twp., Caller reports noise from Timberlee for the last couple of hours, was out walking his dog, heard what he believes could be fireworks or gunshots.

11:09 p.m. — Bingham Township Caller is arguing with his wife. Nothing physical per deputy. Just a marital dispute.

11:20 p.m. — Bingham Township Caller from Wisconsin advises that her son needs help and to send the police right away. (Deputies made contact with the male half.)

Sunday, December 15

2:56 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township Disorderly person.

3:06am 12/15/2024 Noise Suttons Bay Twp., Caller reports loud music for the last few hours, would like someone to ask them to turn it down. Addressed with 8 subjects, turned it down.

Monday, December 16

8:04am 12/16/2024 Motor Vehicle Crash Lake Leelanau Cty., Garbage truck driver hit power pole and lines are down, power is out at the plant and lines are laying on the truck. One person in the vehicle, no damage to truck and driver is okay.

12:51pm 12/16/2024 Car Deer Leelanau Cty., Caller hit a deer this morning in a red pickup work truck, wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do since it wasn’t his vehicle, spoke with employer and has returned to scene, deer ran off.

4:29 p.m. — Bingham Township Single vehicle swerved on ice and hit a utility pole. Power lines are down on caller’s vehicle. Vehicle off the roadway. No injuries. Silver Land Rover. Looks to just be the cable line. Road shut down. (State Police will remain on the scene for utility company.)

5:43pm 12/16/2024 Leave Scene Grelickville, 11 year old son got hit while on his bike, he walked his bike to the park and called the reporter. No injuries.

8:37 p.m. — Solon Township Single vehicle accident. One taken into custody for operating while intoxicated.

7:42pm 12/17/2024 Car Deer S West-Bay Shore Dr., Hit a deer in his van. Bingham has the vehicle.

8:16am 12/18/2024 Larceny Lake Leelanau, Approximately 19 stakes for snow plowing stolen.

11:24 a.m. — Elmwood Township Caller reports fraud email from PayPal.

12:31pm 12/18/2024 Threats Maple City, Man called and threatened to remove an individual. Staff was instructed to call.

9:15pm 12/18/2024 Suspicious Incident N West Bay-Shore Dr., Got a call that someone drove into a driveway or the yard at this address, car no longer there, will check it out.

Thursday, December 19

5:13 a.m. — Bingham Township Caller reports hearing something that sounded like buzzing or possibly an alarm coming from the gas station area.

8:29 a.m. — Solon Township Caller received a letter for an unpaid loan balance in his name. Fraudulent identity theft.

9:26pm 12/19/2024 Suspicious Vehicle Empire Twp., Called out with a suspicious vehicle at Empire Beach parking lot. Subjects were just talking, informed subject of his upcoming curfew, he will be leaving shortly.

Friday, December 20

2:03 a.m. — Elmwood Township Possible drug paraphernalia found.

10:28 a.m. — Leland Township Neighbor cut down a tree on caller’s property but the tree debris is in caller’s driveway and in another neighbor. (It will be a Road Commission issue, per law enforcement.)

4:42pm 12/20/2024 Suspicious Incident Elmwood Twp., Caller reporting someone has been in her yard.

Saturday, December 21

9:34am 12/21/2024 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Caller bought a satellite antenna from a neighbor and the neighbor wants the antenna back.

9:46 a.m. — Centerville Township Injured eagle on the side of the road.

2:18pm 12/21/2024 Citizen Assist S West Bay Shore Dr., Caller’s neighbor looks like they have a burst pipe, water pouring out onto the south wall near the generator box.

3:33pm 12/21/2024 Fail Report Elmwood Twp., Car took out 5 mailboxes at this residence, light colored truck left the scene.

5:34 p.m. — Bingham Township Subjects lost in the woods looking for a dog. Dispatch is guiding him back to the road using GPS. Reunited with his wife in car. Declines medical attention.

7:34pm 12/21/2024 Threats Lake Leelanau, Caller has been receiving threats a lot from people in Traverse City.

Sunday, December 22

11:00am 12/22/2024 Hunting Illegal Lake Leelanau, Caller heard gunshots around 10pm the last two nights. This morning her husband noticed tire tracks and blood going down their driveway. They think someone is trespassing and illegal hunting on their property.

2:05pm 12/22/2024 Threats Lake Leelanau, Person threatening to shoot the caller.

8:21 p.m. — Centerville Township Caller hit a patch of ice, hit a stop sign and rolled her vehicle. Car off the road. Stop sign needs to be replaced.

11:31 p.m. — Empire Township Ex-husband is trying to hurt caller’s children.

Monday, December 23

12:03pm 12/23/2024 Suspicious Person Glen Arbor Twp., Caller reported someone came into the entryway in all black with black beanie. He didn’t say anything. Asked who he was and said he was a neighbor.

2:21 p.m. — Leelanau Township Two black poodles at large behind the driving range.

8:15 p.m. — Elmwood township Vehicle doing “burnouts” in parking lot.

Tuesday, December 24

1:43 a.m. — Elmwood Township Several vehicles in the ditch. Extremely icy in the area.

12:16 p.m. — Solon Township Deputy speaking with homeowner about not blowing snow into the roadway.

4:38 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township Man yelling loudly.

8:34pm 12/24/2024 Assault Battery Leelanau Cty., Individual is at the caller's residence and is trying to fight him.

Wednesday, December 25

9:05 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township Caller left house Tuesday. Came home to an open door. (Residence checked. No sign of forced entry or anything taken.)

Thursday, December 26

9:52am 12/26/2024 Animal Control Leelanau Cty., Child bit by dog.

10:49 a.m. — Bingham Township Six or seven vehicles parked along the side of the road south of Bingham Road on M-22. Not over the line but on a corner and caller thinks it is unsafe. (Deputy drove by the area and saw the vehicles. They are safely on the shoulder.)

12:19 p.m. — Bingham Township East from Co. Rd. 641 at the top of the hill, German Shepherd chasing cars in the road.

9:27pm 12/26/2024 Trespassing Suttons Bay Twp., Fight happening outside the restaurant, two males, no weapons, outside on the street.

12:03am 12/27/2024 Info Suttons Bay Twp., Caller reporting that subject is currently at this residence. Caller advises that the subject has been absconding for months.

11:17am 12/27/2024 Animal Control Solon Twp., Dogs are going to the bathroom in caller’s yard.

3:38 p.m. — Empire Township Caller has people threatening her life.

4:40pm 12/28/2024 Info Suttons Bay Twp., Neighbors called on him last week so he is calling on them now.

1:55am 12/29/2024 Suspicious Incident Centerville Twp., Caller heard comotion from the neighbor’s house. Have not heard or seen anything after driving around the area, will stay in area.

2:04 p.m. — Cleveland Township Step brother is threatening caller.

11:21pm 12/29/2024 Fire Chimney Leelanau Cty., Heater inside the camper was smoking and the caller is now concerned.

7:00pm 12/30/2024 Parking E Madison Ave., 45-23 called out with a vehicle parked in the middle of the road.

7:54pm 12/30/2024 Assault Battery Lake Leelanau, Assaulted by individual between 2-2:30 this afternoon.
