In the Year of our Lord of COVID Issue #12 Tha thu sgoinneil!*
Days in lockdown: 303
Mood: Pretty good!
This week. Amirite?
In an effort to be timelier with writing my weekly missives, I started several drafts this week only to become perfectly deflated on Wednesday. I lied to my boss and told her I forgot my allergist’s appointment (I had no appointment) and I took off for the day, burning vacation time so I could take a long nap. TEH and I spent most of the evening watching MSNBC and the objection counts. Josh Hawley can go fuck off into the oblivion. The nearest star system is still too close for my liking.
Everyone is writing about the sedition by the domestic terrorists. I honestly believe that everyone has a fresh voice brought even the most tired of topics but I don’t know what value I can add here other than throw my hat in the ring echoing everyone else.
Again: fuck Josh Hawley, that traitorous scumbag of meat. Also include Ted Cruz.
Thus, I decided today’s newsletter was going to be about happy things. (By happy I mean shit you can buy.) I don’t think you’ll mind because I think we all need to have some happiness, no matter how fleeting, when the world feels lost and desolate. (I DO have hope that things will get better. Don’t let the despondency be a Cassandra warning.)
Wonderful Thing:
My desk is tiny: 19” deep and 40” long. I have a monitor to handle my work monitors, a docking station, keyboard, mouse set-up, and just enough room for my personal laptop. But I still have trinkets that need a home so I bought a catch-all.
Interesting Things (or things to buy):
Still hawking my Pops on eBay if you are so inclined to shop
A friend reached out that they were into buying the TomboyX bras I mentioned a couple of episodes back and wondered if I had a referrer code. Turns out I do! ($20 off your first order!)
I bought this pop-up pencil case from Notebook Therapy and it is awesome
I’ve swapped out to carrying my Cambridge Satchel Poppy bag in Oxblood the other day which I splurged on when I started a big girl job some time ago. I even got it monogramed! They are currently having their annual 30% off sale and I cannot say enough about these bags. Handmade in England with amazing leather. (I also have the 13” satchel.)
We’ve started watching the final season of Vikings and hoo boy. Shit is going down. S1 – S6 Part 1 is on Hulu. S1 – 6 Part 2 (the final season) is included with Amazon Prime.
For Christmas I got The Modern Witchcraft Book of Tarot. (Support your local bookstore!) This necessitated that I had to buy a new deck but instead I bought two: Old English Tarot and The Medieval Scapini Tarot. A couple of years ago, I really got into pulling a daily card and writing about it in an anonymous blog. I referred to three different books and really got into it but writing and researching a daily pull takes a lot of energy and work so I pulled the site down. I’m bummed I never continued with the blog as the cards helped me work through some stuff at the time that was better than therapy. I’ve been looking to continue exploring my spirituality, so I asked for the tarot book and bought the decks. I decided I’m going to do a card pull at the end of each newsletter.
S13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race is now in session. Current favorites are Olivia Luxe, Symone, and Gottmik.
What the fuck happened today? is a bite-sized breakdown of the top political news happening, well, on that day. Sent out 6P EST / 3P PST M-F, I’ve checked out previous articles and I can handle how the content is presented. For now.
The 12” of the remastered “Love Will Tear Us Apart” has been purchased
This is a pretty good pizza dough recipe

Weekly Tarot Card Pull
Judgement XX Judgement sounds awful, and can seem awfully negative, but it’s more about self-renewal and coming clean with yourself rather than someone being judged. It’s also about self-awareness and coming to terms with your choices and own judgements. Do you need to look for forgiveness? Do you need to atone? In upright, it can be a very positive card. Skye Alexander rates it as a “wake-up call” to one’s self.
(*”You are brilliant!” in Scots Gaelic)
As always, don't be an ass. Wear a damned mask.
