Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #10/11 Caller’s ex-wife and daughter are trying to start issues
Every week, Leelanau county's (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.
(Note: *gestures around at current world events* hence this week's a double issue.)
Thursday, Oct. 1
8:31 a.m. — Kasson Township —Two girls, 14 to 18 years of age, look like they may have come from a van. The van left but the girls were walking though the field toward the school.
11:56 a.m. — Solon Township — Law enforcement going to speak with homeowner about some political sign issues.
2:37 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller is reporting that their truck is gone. White Ford Ranger. States no one has access to it. *Vehicle was repossessed by Northern Asset Recovery. Notified owner of repo.
Friday, Oct. 2
10:33 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Male with Alzheimer’s called subject and advised that someone fell in the bathroom. However, caller advised that she doesn’t know if it’s true or not due to his memory.
Saturday, Oct. 3
2:49 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Park ranger out with subject at the Day Farm.
5:47 p.m. — Kasson Township — Ex-wife keeps calling. Caller had a protection order against her but it was dropped. She’s threatening to come to the caller’s house. Was trespassed a week ago.
Sunday, Oct. 4
1:42 a.m. — Solon Township — Eight to 10 cars parked at neighbors. Caller thinks it’s suspicious due to it being late at night.
1:47 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Customer verbally assaulted caller when they were asked to wear mask. Subject left store. Caller doesn’t need to see anyone.
3:44 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller’s ex-wife and daughter are trying to start issues.
9:37 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Male nearby yelling and screaming curse words outside by the TART trail.
Monday, Oct. 5
3:35 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Someone is trying to break into caller’s house. Caller thinks she heard a window break. (Entire outside of the home is secure per law enforcement. Checked interior and exterior and found nothing.)
11:15 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Lost diamond solitaire necklace sometime last weekend.
2:14 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Female walking on the TART Trail. Half-dressed. Rolling around on the ground. Caller is not sure if she is on something. (Per law enforcement, subject has been drinking. States she’s trying to go to sleep. Declined medical attention.)
3:01 p.m. — Solon Township — Caller attempted to help two teenage boys jump their car. Teens got an attitude with caller when she asked about a lack of a license plate. They accused her of being a racist. Caller would like law enforcement to drive through the area.
Wednesday, Oct. 7
8:30 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller is renting a condo. Two roosters showed up on property and one of them is injured. Caller contacted the owner of the house but roosters are not theirs. Welfare of the rooster is fine. Caller was advised to stop feeding it.
8:50 a.m. — Bingham Township —Caller says there is a raccoon acting strangely. Not showing signs of normal fear.
10:39 a.m. — Centerville Township — Caller’s neighbor is on his front porch having a breakdown.
Thursday, Oct. 8
1:21 a.m. — Leland Township — Caller says there’s a female outside his residence who needs assistance. She got locked out of her hotel room and she has no phone to get into the room.
9:11 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Light is off at the recycling center and there is a male in an older white van parked there. Caller thinks deputies should do a drive by the area.
11:01 p.m. — Kasson Township — Subject, 14, is screaming. Not physically aggressive but is screaming at the caller and upset. Nothing physical.
Friday, Oct. 9
3:18 p.m. — Leland Township — Subject has been stalking caller and wife for 10 years.
5:31 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller heard a dog whining for 10 minutes like it was injured. Somewhere in the area of her home but unknown where. Caller made contact with owner. Dog had gotten into a porcupine.
8:55 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Miscellaneous juvenile activity.
10:49 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — No one on line. No response on call back or text. Male called. Having some hallucinations. Taking to Munson.
Saturday, Oct. 10
3:46 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller could hear male screaming and couldn’t understand him. Caller is concerned he will harm himself.
Sunday, Oct. 11
3:58 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller hears vandalism at Sugar Loaf.
Monday, Oct. 12
6:01 p.m.— Leland Township — Disorderly person.
8:15 p.m. — Leland Township — Domestic. Male saying “please help me.” Open line with multiple people screaming and fighting in the background.
