Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #16 Injured fox in the roadway. Caller wrapped it in a blanket
Every week, Leelanau county's (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.
Tuesday, Nov. 10
11:51 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller says there is a blue Subaru with a kayak rack parked at Perrin’s Landing since previous day. Owner contacted at their home. They “simply forgot” to retrieve their car. On their way now to get it.
3:21 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller has concerns with neighbors’ camera that is pointed directly at caller’s house.
Wednesday, Nov. 11
11:52 a.m. — Empire Township — Neighbor cut tree that fell on caller’s planted pine trees.
Thursday, Nov. 12
2:31 p.m. — Centerville Township — Neighboring property owners are dumping appliances, oil and other items on their property.
7:53 p.m. — Leland Township — Injured fox in the roadway. Caller wrapped it in a blanket.
Friday, Nov. 13
10:45 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Vehicle is parked in lot without permission, plugged in and using electricity from restaurant. Black 4-door Cadillac Escalade. Looks like registered owner has been living in vehicle. (Owner found at coffee shop. Will move, per law enforcement.)
11:02 a.m. — Leland Township — Two dogs at large.
12:25 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Garbage bags full of items in a trash bin dropped off at caller’s end of driveway. Caller received a call from garbage company to inform him that they do not have his address listed for services.
Saturday, Nov. 14
3:47 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Large group of females singing loudly. Caller believe noise is coming from the east. (Per law enforcement no one came to the door but lights are turned off and the music went down.
12:15 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Neighbor is continually harassing caller and his wife. Yells obscenities at them when they are conducting their normal daily activities.
4:13 p.m. — Cleveland Township — White/silver truck has been parked across from caller’s house for at least two hours. Caller thinks they are trespassing at Sugar Loaf. (Per law enforcement, caller is upset because he can’t hunt the property and he thinks the truck owner is hunting.
5:18 p.m. — Solon Township — Two individuals walking on the side of the road. Could possibly get hit. Wearing “beige and avocado” like colors.
5:28 p.m. — Kasson Township — Subject tried doing a U-turn and got stuck in the ditch. Hung up on some railroad ties.
10:27 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller thinks she hears someone outside the front door. They are not wanting to look outside. (Law enforcement checked the perimeter. All clear.)
Monday, Nov. 16
9:06 a.m. — Leland Township — Someone is cutting through caller’s yard. Second time this has happened. Broke gate going from Front to backyard.
2:24 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller reports a dog that is loose all the time. Is barking now. Not tied up. (Law enforcement arrived in the area. Sat quietly for a period. Did not hear dog barking.)
