Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #25 - 26 Paint cans in the middle of the road.
Every week, Leelanau county’s (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.
(Ed. All spelling errors and grammatical mistakes left in place.)
(The week of January 13th was a slow week so doubling up this week.)
Friday, Jan. 15
7:21 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller would like it on record that winery was holding an event that included fireworks. Caller and others have complained on several occasions about the noise.
7:41 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Son is out of control and has been trying to fight.
Saturday, Jan. 16
9:45 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Dog ran off. Has been gone three days. Female, small black and white Husky with blue eyes. “Atka” wearing reflective collar.
4:58 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Male, 14, threatening to cut himself.
11:07 p.m. — Kasson Township — Strange car in the ditch near caller’s driveway. Red truck. Doesn’t seem to be anyone around.
Thursday, Jan. 21
4:28 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Anonymous letters being sent to the caller from same person. Happened in December and again today.
Friday, Jan. 22
2:02 p.m. — Centerville Township — Credit card used at the Kids Footlocker in Garden City, New York.
5:04 p.m. — Kasson Township — Kids had an altercation while sledding.
7:28 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller is complaining about her brother who lives in Leelanau County. She advises that he keeps calling his mother’s house, where the caller lives and is causing trouble.
10:37 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller reports hearing something outside his house. Per law enforcement only footprints outside are from animals or the caller running from one house to the next.
Saturday, Jan. 23
7:27 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Domestic. Everyone is separated now. Things have calmed down. Little sister is trying to hit everyone. Throwing things across the house.
Sunday, Jan. 24
12:38 p.m. — Bingham Township — Paint cans in the middle of the road. Possibly fell out of someone’s truck. Caller didn’t want to stop because it was on a curve.
7 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Subject with finger closed in the door.
Monday, Jan. 25
8:45 a.m. — Bingham Township — Caller gave driver’s license number and credit card information to someone. (Was given information on steps to take.)
8:55 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller reports tracks around the complex. Possible someone knocking on doors last night. Would like Grand Traverse Band Police Department to look around.
1:48 p.m. — Bingham Township — Son angry with mom.
3:24 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller scammed on Facebook. (Advised how to get the payments reversed.)
6:48 p.m. — Centerville Township — Vehicle on its side half way between Bodus and Popa Valley Road. Does not have anyone in vehicle. (Driver on the vehicle called in. Not injured. She was the only occupant.)
