Every week, Leelanau county’s (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, Jan. 27
11:05 a.m. — Kasson Township — Processor server was serving papers and was bit by a gray pit bull.
9:50 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller requests a welfare check on her sister. Several family members have reached out to her and she has not responded. Staying in an Air BnB in Northport. (No cell service. Caller advised of outcome.)
Thursday, Jan. 28
2:32 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller usually speaks with her and friends two to three times per day. Has gone right to voice mail for several days.
5:40 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller’s neighbor help with his computer and it was reset. Now he is getting random calls about an Amazon account.
6:07 p.m. — Solon Township — “Mom is holding dog hostage.” Case referred to animal control for further investigation.
9:04 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller has a few houses in Lake Leelanau. Has a nephew that should not be there. But he may be. Caller would like him removed if he is there because he does not have permission to be there. (Per law enforcement blinds drawn. No lights. No tracks.
Friday, Jan. 29
11:37 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller had questions about animal health and children. Was referred to their pediatrician.
12:15 p.m. — Bingham Township — Former employee called this morning making non-specific threats. Caller told subject not to call back. Wants it on record for information only.
4:53 p.m. — Bingham Township — Ex-husband has been in driveway for 45 minutes. Caller has asked him to leave. Came up to the door. Thinks it’s “his weekend” but it’s not. Civil custody issue. Male half has left.
6:36 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Three snowmobiles took out “run out” steel stake with yellow reflector. Wants it documented.
9:17 p.m. — Bingham Township — Snowmobile “screaming down” the road and trespassing on father’s property. (Per law enforcement subject advised to stay off property.)
11:16 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller’s son has been sending “goodbye” messages to his family tonight. Has a history of mental health issues. (Taken to Munson for voluntary commitment.)
Saturday, Jan. 30
3:15 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller bought filing cabinet that still contains paperwork with Social Security numbers and personal information on it. Caller would feel more comfortable if officer was present to assist in getting rid of it.
3:50 p.m. — Bingham Township — Group of people parked on the side of the road looking in a barn.
5:35 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller is in Florida. He was advised there are snowmobilers going across his property. Caller was advised on options to deal with trespassing. Gave permission for law enforcement to enter his property to address trespassers.
7:06 p.m. — Leland Township — Four snowmobiles with people being pulled. (Law enforcement had discussion with subject on what can take place on private and public roadway.)
Sunday, Jan. 31
4:12 p.m. — Empire Township — Caller was walking dog on his farm and found beer cans left in the tree line. One sign was missing.
4:39 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller wanted 911 to know that her rear tires are losing air and they are bulging. She insists they should not be doing this because they are brand new and under warranty. Caller advised to go to the dealership to get fixed under said warranty.
