Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #29 – 30 Subject refuses to leave the post office

Every week, Leelanau county’s (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Friday, Feb. 12
9:26 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Elderly man walking with a cane in the middle of the road. Second caller states he’s walking to Leland. Caller had to leave. Male walking northbound.
2:15 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller fell off couch.
5:50 p.m. — Leland Township — Snowmobiles driving too fast through the area. Caller thinks it is unsafe and would like patrols in the area. Does not want someone getting into accident.
Sunday, Feb. 14
2:56 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Someone wrote on her front porch bench and there is a large footprint in the snow next to the bench.
Monday, Feb. 15
3:31 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller has not heard from resident all day. Received an email from him. (Contact was made. Caller spoke with resident.)
5:07 p.m. — Solon Township — Subject walking on Lakeshore Drive wearing a long-sleeved shirt and arm in a sling. Caller is concerned with the low temperatures. (Per law enforcement. Subject does not need any assistance and is dressed OK for being outside.
Wednesday, Feb. 17
1:36 a.m. — Kasson Township — Deputy out with a vehicle parked in the school parking lot.
Thursday, Feb. 18
5:57 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Car broke down. Caller started walking north. No extremely cold. Deputy made contact and will give a ride home.
Friday, Feb. 19
10:54 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Dog at large complaint.
9:36 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller drove his 2004 Chevy Silverado off the road. Hit a mailbox and vehicle is in the snowbank. Caller had a friend pick him up and took home.
Saturday, Feb. 20
6:46 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Disorderly person. (Subject calmed down and left the establishment.)
Sunday, Feb. 21
5:47 a.m. — Centerville Township — Three vehicles parked on either side of the road making it impossible to plow. (Owners are waking up now and will move.)
Monday, Feb. 22
8:56 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Subject refuses to leave the post office.
9:52 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller requests law enforcement take a complaint for someone who has not paid remaining balance on rental equipment. (Both parties contacted. Will work out an arrangement for payment.)
2:37 p.m. — Leland Township — Someone used caller’s ID and ran up a cable bill.
5:04 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller says her ex-husband keeps trying to contact her and would like someone to contact him and tell him to stop.
6:04 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Woman drove on caller’s property.
7:38 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Tenant that stayed over the weekend may have left the oven on. Caller is in Detroit area and requests a check. (Oven was off. All secure.)
