Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #31 Caller hit what he believes to be a bobcat
Every week, Leelanau county’s (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, Feb. 24
12:37 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller has a male at her door who stated he’s trying to get back to the reservation. Per caller, he “looks out of it” and appears to be dazed. (Deputy dropped him off.)
2:01 p.m. — Kasson Township — Miscellaneous juvenile activity.
5 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller received notification that someone has filed for unemployment under her name.
5:13 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Bags and bags of beer cans and trash on the trail. Caller picked it all up but wants law enforcement to be aware.
Thursday, Feb. 25
6:47 p.m. — Solon Township — It appears the duplex has been vandalized and/or entered. Drivers have been taking pictures. Per deputy, there is no evidence of a break-in. No signs of entry or things missing. Caller wanted it noted that four different vehicles have been seen recently slowing down. Stopping in front of the duplexes apparently taking pictures.
Friday, Feb. 26
10:36 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller states someone made an unemployment complaint in their name in Illinois.
Saturday, Feb. 27
11:09 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller is reporting a domestic disturbance. He is trying to leave the residence but is being blocked.
7:58 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Wallet found at the Dune Climb. Caller contacted owner on Facebook but he has not responded. (Law enforcement got a hold of owner. Will meet at Tom’s West Bay to return it to owner.)
9:58 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller refused service to a male and female 15 minutes ago. The male is now calling the store harassing the caller. He would like law enforcement to call the man and ask him to stop.
Sunday, Feb. 28
4:18 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Husband is having mental issues.
Monday, March 1
9:05 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller received a 1099 from Ohio for unemployment. Caller has not worked in Ohio.
9:36 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller is a contractor contacted by homeowner that saw on his camera an employee walking around the house where he was not doing work. Caller doesn’t believe he took anything, but homeowner wants it documented.
11:48 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Just north of Northport, near the airport, caller hit what he believes to be a bobcat. No damage to vehicle. Animal picked up and turned over to the DNR.
2:54 p.m. — Bingham Township — Ongoing problem with dumping materials on the side of the road near caller’s property.
9:16 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller received texts and phone calls tonight from female saying that she has failed as a mother. Caller is concerned for her well being. (Female contacted and said everything was OK.)
Tuesday, March 2
1:04 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Person is subleasing and is now being harassed via text. Other party pocketed the caller’s sublease money instead of paying the landlord and caller is now being evicted.
