Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #37 Caller’s roommate padlocked caller inside the apartment
Throbbing Cabin is located in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, April 7
4:01 a.m. — Empire Township — Caller dropped sleeping pills on the floor and can’t pick them up.
9:21 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller received a letter from the “Michigan department of Health” saying they were owed money. Caller think it’s a scam.
11:26 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller gave information to a Facebook hacker.
3:07 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Park Service ranger checking on a vehicle. Found man sleeping. He was advised not to drive and/or park where he was. It’s considered “off road.”
8:22 p.m. —Suttons Bay Township — Caller lived with his ex-girlfriend. Bought a Playstation 4 Pro that is still at the girlfriend’s house. It is connected to caller’s credit cards. Caller is constantly getting emails about buying items with his card. He apparently has asked former girlfriend to cancel his cards from the system and she won’t. She’s also refusing to give him back that Playstation.
Thursday, April 8
8:14 a.m. — Empire Township — Caller believes neighbor took her cat.
9:20 a.m. — Kasson Township — Neighbors dog in yard. Ongoing complaint.
9:24 a.m. — Centerville Township — Dog at large on the beach.
2:53 p.m. — Empire Township — Dog keeps chasing vehicles. It’s a black and white collie and the owner is aware of it. Yet, it still happens.
Friday, April 9
2:56 p.m.— Cleveland Township — Park Service out with truck behind the schoolhouse. Project was for interior construction at this site sanctioned by the Park Service.
5:26 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Subject called doctor earlier and was recommended to go to the hospital. But refused. Law enforcement made contact. Still refused all treatment and transport.
8:36 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller would like extra checks for suspicious vehicles parked at the cul de sac and empty alcohol bottles. Suspecting underage drinking.
Saturday, April 10
8:46 a.m. — Bingham Township — Caller thinks neighbor has tied platforms to caller’s boat mooring. Would like to know her rights. Caller has not spoken with neighbor about the issue. Law enforcement met with caller. Illegal mooring on legally established mooring.
7:09 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller’s roommate padlocked caller inside the apartment. Law enforcement responded. “Nothing malicious. Believed to be a miscommunication.”
Sunday, April 11
2:57 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Three vehicles in the parking lot. A van, white truck and a blue hatchback. There are families walking around the property and going inside of the buildings. At least two people were seen walking around inside. Five or six people just walking around in the area.
Monday, April 12
12:16 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller is seeking a divorce from his wife. She used his business credit card to pay bills.
12:26 p.m. — Bingham Township — Today, between 1:30 and 4:30 a.m., subject violated a Personal Protection Order (PPO) by making contact via Snapchat.
1:13 p.m. — Solon Township — Ongoing dispute over animal issues. She is feeling harassed and wants information about obtaining a PPO.
4:54 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Customer keeps coming into restaurant without a mask and harassing staff and customers. Drives a Dodge Ram, two-tone black with tan stripes. Hispanic gentleman with bald head. Late 40s early 50s. Caller is the manager and would like the subject trespassed.
7:49 p.m.— Suttons Bay Township — Caller was walking down by the old coal docks when she noticed the cottontails that her great-grandfather had planted many years ago, chopped down. He planted the cottontails down there to prevent people from drowning.
Caller then went on to say that she doesn’t know is someone could be in the water only because the cottontails were “hacked” at and then advised she doesn’t want a lawsuit filed against the village and her taxes be raised.
7:59 p.m.— Elmwood Township — Two beagles got out of caller’s yard again. Neither are wearing collars.
