Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #39 Horse ran into caller
Throbbing Cabin is located in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, April 28
1:37 p.m.,— Glen Arbor Township — Male in a silver Mustang has been driving around caller while she’s out walking between 6:45 and 7:30 a.m. It’s been going on for about a month and a half now and it’s making the caller very uncomfortable. She just wants this as patrol information.
3:02 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller came across a backpack with two sweatshirts, a jacket and a blanket about 10 feet off the trail. Caller wants Sheriff’s Office to be aware of it in case someone were to come up missing or state these items have been taken from them.
8:32 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Sign states the store is still open for another 30 minutes. However, the side door is locked and front door is open. There is no one there.
Thursday, April 29
11:46 a.m. — Leland Township — Horse ran into caller.
4:20 p.m. — Bingham Township — Neighbors have three dogs that are always on the loose. Two smaller dogs and one German Shepherd. Caller would like to speak with animal control officer.
4:59 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Neighbors have put up a sign and caller cannot see oncoming traffic when trying to leave her residence. Shared driveway, but neighbor’s property.
Friday, April 30
9:24 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Ongoing problem. Lots of people are allowing their dogs to run loose in the marina and beach areas. Dogs are leaving “evidence” behind which creates a problem for other visitors and staff.
6:12 p.m. — Maple City — Friend got into a blue Mustang and started yelling “let me out” and was pounding on the glass. (Traffic stop made.)
6:16 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Unruly child yelling and screaming. Was at softball game.
Saturday, May 1
2:16 p.m.—Elmwood Township — Man in bright red truck shot a turkey from the cab of his truck while bordering caller’s property. 45 to 50 years-old. Plaid shirt, dark red flannel hat. Was on Cherry Bay Orchard’s property.
2:18 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Bike found by house. (It was determined the bicycle is being sought by the Traverse City Police Department. It was stolen. Caller is bringing the bike to the law enforcement center.
6:57 p.m. — Solon Township — Caller’s daughter was in Leelanau County looking for property for her parents who live in Colorado. The caller has been speaking with the daughter all day and now has not been able to get in contact with her for 2.5 hours. The last property she should be going to is on Parker Rd. (Caller called back and advised he reached his daughter. She just took a kayak ride instead of going where he thought she was going. No need for assistance).
8:13 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Someone is cutting wood on a vacant lot where no one is supposed to be. (Property owner gave permission.)
Sunday, May 2
4:23 a.m. — Centerville Township — Caller is spraying orchard northeast corner of Townline and Eitzen roads. Male is parked in the ditch and harassing the caller, who is trying to spray and impeding the process. Caller is there with his boss who owns the orchard.
2:22 p.m.— Elmwood Township — Caller is concerned about a large, white cooler near the coal docks. It’s drawing a lot of black flies.
2:55 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller got turned around in the woods and doesn’t know where she is or how to get back to her car. Caller was advised to open the map on her phone to see where her current location is and then follow the compass as well as her map through there. (Called called back and advised she made it to the road and was able to find her car.)
8:31 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Band practice going on at the neighbors. Very loud. Ongoing issue. (Law enforcement spoke with individuals and they are going to try to mediate the situation.)
Monday, May 3
10:22 a.m. — Bingham Township — Neighbor verbally confronted caller on caller’s property.
12:09 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller found a backpack and crow bar stuck under his propane tank. Thinks it’s suspicious.
Don’t be an ass. Wear a damned mask. Unless you’re fully vaxxed but don’t be stupid.
