Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #43 Pig on the loose
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.

Wednesday, May 26
9:36 a.m. — Leland Township — Caller received a call from patient’s father. She is passed out in the front yard and raising her head every now and then.
1:40 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Dogs off leash in an enclosed area. Ranger on scene with individual not cooperating.
2:25 p.m. — Bingham Township — Black Saturn passing cars on double yellow line. Making obscene gestures out the window.
Thursday, May 27
9:44 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller needs to speak with a deputy about people going through mailbox. Found his mailbox open this morning with a coffee cup in it. Coffee still warm.
1:33 p.m. — Leland Township — Misplaced laptop. Last known place at Suttons Bay restaurant.
2:09 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller is leaving residence at the end of the month. Father is threatening her and threw water at her. Threatening to tow her vehicle. Subject is not coming to the door. Civil situation.
Friday, May 28
12:21 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Someone yelling in the area. (Homeowner was yelling at persons they thought were breaking into their vehicle. Subject took off.
8:57 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Small deer in the driveway that appears to be injured. (Upon arrival deputy determined that the animal appears to be a newborn and is still trying to find its balance. Mom deer is likely in the area. Recommended to leave the animal and it will likely be reunited with mom. Caller asked to keep an eye on it and if it’s still there in the morning to give them a call.)
Saturday, May 29
12:33 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller says there’s a lot of screaming coming from nearby address, along with dogs barking. Caller says it is very loud and is keeping her up. Would like them to quiet down. (Noise was carrying across the roadway. They were asked to quiet down and they are going to do so.)
7:11 p.m. —Empire Township — Caller is manager of campground. Received numerous complaints of neighbors playing loud music until 2 a.m. It has already started again today and she would like a deputy to stop by and see if they could turn it down a couple of notches. (Contact made by law enforcement. Subjects said the noise issue should be remedied for the night.
10:47 p.m. — Kasson Township — Very large fireworks going on for 10 minutes. Caller’s horses are going nuts. (No local ordinance for Kasson Township on fireworks. Following state law that fireworks are allowed before Memorial Day.) Sunday, May 30
1:54 a.m. — Empire Township — Caller states that someone tried to break into their room about an hour ago.
12:06 p.m. — Empire Township — Park Service has given an “dog off leash” citation twice now and the ranger advised that he does not agree with the National Park’ guidelines of keeping a dog on a leash. He intends on keep doing it.
1:03 p.m. — Centerville Township — Pig on the loose. Can’t find its owner. Lost sight of pig. Caller thinks it went back home.
Sunday, May 31
9:54 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Female out in the parking lot screaming at customers. Suspect sitting on her front porch now.
11:53 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Female with a bottle of booze. Running people off the bike trail into the roadway. Currently hiding in bushes. Black leggings and blue hoodie. (Per law enforcement, she will stay at her house for the next 36 hours.
3:54 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Subject harassing caller while she is trying to pack up her things and leave.
Don’t be an ass. Wear a damned mask. Unless you’re fully vaxxed but don’t be stupid.
