Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #44 Subject took too many edibles
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, June 2
3:38 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Person crosses property at night. Wakes up the caller. Subject is male. Wore a dark-colored hoodie. Caller doesn’t want response tonight. Just wants it noted for the time being subject never damages property. Just passes through and is an ongoing issue.
8:33 a.m. — Centerville Township — Caller is building a house and the neighbor is blocking his easement. It’s an ongoing problem. Caller is having to call neighbor everyday with the same conversation. (Civil issue per law enforcement.)
10:59 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Suspicious incident.
3:10 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Suspicious incident.
4:10 p.m. — Empire Township — Black Kia Sorento. Subject took too many edibles and would like a park ranger to bring them some water.
4:58 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Suspicious incident.
11:11 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Loud noise. Voices and excessive noise.
Thursday, June 3
11:10 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller would like a civil standby for termination of an employee who may become unruly.
2:42 p.m. — Leland Township — Neighbor keeps moving survey stakes. The surveyor said that the stakes had been moved but there’s no indication who moved them. It’s a civil issue.
4:55 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Boat parked near the Narrows at the sand bar. Caller says she thinks they have too many people on board and are playing music loudly. Would like them spoken to. (Boat departed prior to arrival).
5:09 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller proposed to girlfriend and the ring is stuck on her finger. Cut-off ring request.
8:40 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller will be parking her car in the VFW parking lot to sleep in just for the night. (Advised OK to park there for the night.)
11:58 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Site is being loud. Caller has asked them to quiet down. Quiet time started at 10 p.m. Subjects have been drinking and are having loud conversations. (No noise when investigated.)
Friday, June 4
9:47 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Dog at large by the ballfields.
9:48 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Subject not welcome at her parent’s house. Received another call. Subject sitting at BATA station wearing green sweatshirt, gray pants and red shoes. Yelling at people. Possibly having a mental episode.
2:21 p.m. — Leland Township — Someone turned on the water system to caller’s pond and flooded it.
4:16 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Man on the ground. Patient has been drinking.
6:35 p.m. — Empire Township — Found 30 lb. German shepherd. No collar. Very well behaved. Currently on the porch. Caller fed and watered dog. Messaged two group pages about the dog and put information online.
8:03 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Son got in trouble and ran away.
8:25 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller reports there needs to be more patrols in the Sugar Loaf area. “It’s like a teenage frat party” with fireworks and kids trespassing. Only one vehicle where kids usually park. No one around. There is a lot of traffic and kids out at the townhouses.
Saturday, June 5
3:11 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller’s computer was hacked and she is not able to access her banking information. Suspects may have Social Security number and other personal information.
12:54 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller said relative recently died and now other family members are taking things from the house. Would like law enforcement there to help sort things out. (Disregard. Civil issue.)
5:16 p.m. — Centerville Township — Neighbor keeps moving fence posts. He advised her to leave them alone but she has removed them again. (Parties advised this is civil and that until the property is surveys there is no violation.)
11:14 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Child refusing to go to bed and walking around the street. Law enforcement spoke with juvenile. Now back at the home.
Sunday, June 6
3:21 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Boaters gather at sand bar in front of caller’s house and campground and party. Caller says riparians rights protect the area. Currently about 10 boats there.
6:54 p.m. — Empire Township — Park ranger citing someone for pet violation.
Monday, June 7
10:54 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Miscellaneous juvenile activity.
Don’t be an ass. Wear a damned mask. Unless you’re fully vaxxed but don’t be stupid.
