Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #48 Caller’s American and Donald Trump flags were burned at dock
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, June 30
7:45 a.m. — Leland Township — Last night caller left motorcycle in pole barn. Someone took it out, rode it around and crashed it. Neighbor said it was around 4 a.m.
12:41 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Son, 20, on white paddle board; boater located but he refused help. Boater is calling 911 to provide a good location. They are working a plan to get him to come on board. He’s still reluctant but parties are talking with him. The situation was resolved.
4:53 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller’s American and Donald Trump flags were burned at dock.
Thursday, July 1
1:12 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller heard a loud noise in his back yard. When he got up to look outside he saw someone run past his window. Apparently, this is an ongoing situation. (After speaking with the caller, he didn’t actually see anyone tonight. Just heard the noise.)
10:58 a.m. — Leland Township — Miscellaneous juvenile activity. Deputy spoke with female on golf cart.
12:07 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Large party. Children running around in the roadway unsupervised. Riding a wagon on the main road. Being pulled by a four-wheeler. (Deputy saw no one in the roadway upon arrival. Spoke with homeowner. Wedding going on. Was advised to cease and desist the four-wheeler.)
2:40 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Black and red jet ski near southeast shore with child in the front seat driving another children in tube without a spotter.
Friday, July 3
12:20 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller has charges on credit card. Ongoing issue. Caller has been warned in the past to cease use of card on gaming system account. Caller advised he is now going to get a new card due to this recurring.
12:23 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller says someone was trampled by a horse.
3:23 p.m. — Leland Township — Large, double-decker pontoon. Caller is concerned about capacity limits on board; number of life jackets and noise.
8:39 p.m. — Leland Township — Small silver car drag racing up and down the road. It has happened several times today. Caller can hear squealing of tire and then goes by at roughly 90 mph.
9:38 p.m. — Centerville Township — Fireworks at Good Harbor Bay. No fireworks allowed in the National Park.
11:59 p.m. — Bingham Township — Large party on Hilltop just west of Shore View. Ten cars. (Deputy stopped. Thirty to forty people were advised to quiet down and take party inside.) Caller called back and said that the noise was worse. (Deputy heard no noise upon return.)
Sunday, July 4
2:23 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller asked people to move down toward the public beach. Subject got very angry. Insisted that he could be on the beach. Caller feels threatened. (Law enforcement made contact. Verbally warning issued for trespass.)
7:08 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Neighbors son-in-law is continuously riding his jet ski too close to shore where there are children swimming. Caller has continuously asked him to stop.
8:02 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Two males have been driving. One urinated on caller’s vehicle. Caller does not need to see an officer. Wants law enforcement to be aware should they leave. They will be unsafe due to their level of intoxication.
10:06 p.m. — Cleveland Township — People are lighting fireworks off from beach.
Monday, July 5
6:10 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Harassment. Female passenger in vehicle harassed caller. Black car, possibly Audi S5. Yelled at him to get off the road. Same vehicle did a similar thing on July 3.
9:21 p.m. — Leland Township — A couple is walking up and down the beach without any clothes on. Caller is concerned because of the number of people/ families outside and able to see everything. Caller doesn’t want to press any charges for indecent exposure.
9:59 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Male in his mid-30s is streaking and skinny dipping. Deputy spoke with parties involved. Just don’t want to be repeated.
11:16 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Ten college-age kids on a boat playing loud music. Occurring in the area of the caller’s dock. Caller does not want a response. Just wants music turned down.
