Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #5 Husky trying to eat caller’s rabbits
Every week, Leelanau county's (where our cabin is located) weekly newspaper, Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.
Thursday, Aug. 27
3:34 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller needs help getting back up the dune.
4 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller’s sign was stolen from his yard.
10: 24 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township —Female in vehicle with lights on. Vehicle is still running. White Hyundai, maybe a four-door. Has been there at least 20 minutes. Sleeping or passed out. (Per law enforcement, female was talking on the phone and went to check her mail.)
Friday, Aug. 28
9:35 a.m. — Solon Township — Subject hoarding 20 dogs. Some are loose roaming freely. Does not look healthy. Hair thinning and falling out. Lost weight since last seen. No one answers the door.
4:48 p.m. — Bingham Township — White older van, male in his mid-20s. Dog in truck. Drove up to caller’s residence and urinated near the caller’s garage. Caller has no trespassing signs. Would like to speak with a deputy.
5:33 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Horses in the vineyard.
Saturday, Aug. 29
12:01 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller is reporting loud talking, lots of noise. Cars coming and going. Deputy responded and was unable to locate any people on the property. Caller called back saying he still hears a lot of cars in and out and a lot of beeping.
3:33 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Large party going on. People are out in the parking lot partying there as well. Deputy responded. Unable to hear any noise.
11:02 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Husky trying to eat caller’s rabbits.
1:14 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Man passed out on caller’s porch.
6:25 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — SUV with “just married” on the back is all over the roadway. Ran off road three times.
7:01 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Man just spit on caller’s car. Information only for now. If he has further issues with the man, he will call back and reference this all.
8:33 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller found a litter of five kittens.
Sunday, Aug. 30
2:28 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Caller can hear people inside the building smashing things. Caller didn’t see any vehicles or people. Can just hear it.
Monday, Aug. 31
11:39 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Employee half passed out in vehicle.
5:31 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Male refusing to leave. Black shirt, blue jeans and white hat. (Subject left and was not drunk, according to manager.)
6:04 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller’s son is yelling at parents. Subject walked off possibly to cool down. No physical contact — verbal only.
11:20 p.m. — Bingham Township — One vehicle with multiple teenagers. Loud laughing and horn honking.
