Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #51 They just stared at her
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, July 21
12:23 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Black Nissan 4-door blocking caller’s driveway. Caller just wants a warning put on the vehicle. Caller called back and advised the vehicle is still there and he would like law enforcement to do something about it. (Vehicle towed)
5:41 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Gray minivan parked in turn-around. Halfway in the road and halfway off. Family was by the vehicle and caller told them that they cannot do that. They just stared at her.
10:54 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Male passed out in car. Deputy witnessed no signs that he had been drinking. “Just drove from Ferndale and just tired.”
11:04 p.m. — Bingham Township —A lot of noise. Caller doesn’t want to be seen. (Deputy spoke with people who advised they would quiet down.
Thursday, July 22
9:24 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller bought house on Lake Leelanau. Sailboat came with contract. Valued at zero dollars but caller can’t register it unless it is deemed abandoned. Caller requests info from marina patrol.
1:47 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller may have had personal information compromised through an email scam.
8:34 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Six kids in the old building breaking glass. Was driving a black Honda. Kids no longer there now.
Friday, July 23
1:39 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Vehicle in the gas station parking lot near Roman Wheel. Car is out of gas. Waiting for mom to drive from Leland. Car will be moved later today.
11:50 a.m. — Bingham Township — Female said she needed a ride to Grand Traverse County as the woman she was riding with was driving erratically. Woman is now walking southbound on Co. Rd. 633.
11:55 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Subject did not show up for work today and didn’t answer his phone.
12:53 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Female laying in the ditch with no shoes on.
4:38 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Boat was towing children on tubes and coming dangerously close to shore with swimmers present. Ongoing problem with the same boat. Caller has asked boater to stop, but he doesn’t. Boat is mostly white with blue bottom and lime green accents.
Saturday, July 24
12:02 a.m. — Leland Township — Caller reports a person running through his yard. He says it is the same person who has broken into his house in the past and has been “watching” his house for a while. Caller spoke with some neighbors. They advised that someone has been crossing through yards at night.
6:25 a.m. — Solon Township — Couple people yelling at each other. (Per law enforcement, juvenile issue. Daughter wanted to go to mom’s house this morning. They left and everything is calmed down.)
12:21 p.m. — Leland Township — Neighbor has fifth-wheel parked on caller’s property. Has been there 1.5 weeks. Caller has already sent them a letter to move it. It is on an easement. Caller’s lawyer said to report to law enforcement.
9:55 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller reports that his neighbor has been acting very strangely. He is always yelling and cussing very loud. Caller is concerned because he has young children and doesn’t appreciate how loud he is. (Law enforcement spoke with both parties.)
Sunday, July 25
11:22 p.m. — Kasson Township — Male, 8, acting strange. Swearing at mother. Being violent. Kicking doors. Mom had to lock herself in bedroom. Other children are in the room with her. No weapons. (Law enforcement talked with son. All verbal.)
Monday, July 26
7:54 a.m. — Kasson Township — Gentleman parks his tractor blocking entry to Treece Trail. Treece Trail is a private road and the homeowners have asked subject to move the tractor because it is blocking entrance.
10:56 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Son got in caller’s face and ran off. Caller would like assistance.
12:16 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Neighbors are impeding traffic and making cars go 5 mph. Standing in the middle of the road.
2:14 p.m. — Bingham Township — Boat about a halfmile off shore. Has a lot of black smoke coming out of it. (Old tug boat. No problems.)
7:51 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller thinks her purse was stolen from her hotel room, vehicle … or she left it at a restaurant.
8:20 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Yellow boat on Big Glen just south of the bridge. Playing loud music with a lot of bass.
