Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #52 Caller has cat on leash on front porch.
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

Wednesday, July 28
1 a.m. — Kasson Township — Caller is feeling threatened by her 12-year-old daughter. Father called advising his daughter just ran out of the house and got into a white car. (Contact made. Daughter is with mom. They will be contacting the court in the morning.)
12:06 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Neighbors came onto property, yelling about activities they are taking on their property. Caller believes it is detrimental to his property. Became very aggressive. Was yelling profanities and threats. (Law enforcement at neighbors. Spoken to but not officially trespassed.)
3:38 p.m. — Bingham Township — Horse in the road. (Owner called and said the horse was his and his son was en route to assist with rounding it up.)
11:36 p.m. — Bingham Township — Juvenile left with someone in a vehicle.
Thursday, July 29
12:04 a.m. — Empire Township — Male with gray hair and beard has been following/ watching caller for the past two months. Caller has seen this male on the beach and National Park property behind her home. Caller thinks that since she has filed for divorce that her husband may have hired someone to watch her.
12:34 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller was driving through the area and heard what sounded like a small explosion.
Friday, July 30
7:22 a.m. — Leland Township — Damage to a beverage vending machine. Caller has video/ photos of the subject breaking into the machine.
8:24 a.m. — Kasson Township — Cow in the roadway. Law enforcement spoke with owner. All cows are accounted for and back in fencing.
8:35 a.m. — Leland Township — Caller thinks there’s squatter that was in the neighborhood who previously damaged her fence. (Law enforcement spoke with caller and witnesses. They did see a man running through the area two days ago. The fence has been disturbed but not damaged. All parties were advised to call immediately if any suspicious persons are seen in the area again.)
12:50 p.m. — Leland Township — Older male parked in caller’s driveway in a black Chrysler Sebring. He got out of the vehicle and started looking at all the things on caller’s front porch. When confronted the man said he thought it was a rental and that no one was home.
4:02 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Juveniles who broke down construction tent at the site. Caller is property manager and the owner advised for him to call. Two vehicles on the site — gray Saturn Ion and silver Pontiac Vibe.
4:43 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Fold out pocket knife found after someone tossed it out of the window.
10:28 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Loud, disruptive group on the corner of Kalchik and Tatch roads. They are doing karaoke for more than 30 minutes. (Contact made with group. They will quiet down.)
Saturday, July 31
1:51 p.m. — Leland Township — Someone took 20-foot green canoe from his mailbox. Last seen two weeks ago.
2:44 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller has cat on leash on front porch. Neighbors unleashed dog approached and shook cat in mouth. Cat got loose. Went upstairs and jumped off second story balcony. Caller is taking cat to vet and wants information documented in case he takes dog’s owner to court.
8:04 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Eight persons stuck on Pierce Stocking bluffs. No medical issues. They are about 3/4 of the way down.
8:42 p.m. — Centerville Township — Two teenage girls playing in and near the roadway. Caller is concerned they won’t be seen by drivers due to a dip in the road.
Sunday, Aug. 1
1:05 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Loud music. Caller knock on door but no one will respond. (Per law enforcement no noise when arrived. Spoke with a male who has been drinking outside. Appears the party has been shut down.)
1:48 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller received a letter from someone in Marquette and would like office to come look at it. (Communication he presented was vulgar, but not criminal.)
11:36 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Female on the phone crying. Was not able to give address. Did not advise what the problem was. Caller hunt up the phone. (One subject taken into custody per law enforcement.)
11:52 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller reports people being loud at the Centerville Township Park. Caller advised that the park closes at 11 p.m. and they shouldn’t be there. (No activity at park per law enforcement.)
Monday, Aug. 2
1:38 a.m. — Kasson Township — Caller’s husband was supposed to go to work this morning. Unsure whether he got to work or not. Caller has been trying to reach him without success. Caller states there are no medical issues and that he is not suicidal, nor does he have mental issues.
2:22 p.m. — Solon Township — Someone is harassing caller through text and social media.
4:19 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller says her driver’s license and credit cards were stolen from her car. (Law enforcement stated that she didn’t have any indication the items were stolen. They could be misplaced.)
7:01 p.m. — Kasson Township — One male, one female. Underage. Tried to buy tobacco products. They were denied sale but then they were talking to someone in the parking lot getting gas. Caller thought it was suspicious.
