Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #55 Subject has built another shrine like he did the last time
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. These are the highlights.
These are all real calls.

So, BUMMER! On the 11th, I got to call 911 because there was a tree down on a wire .I DID NOT MAKE THE BLOTTER! What’s a girl got to do to get on the Blotter!?
Wednesday, Aug. 18
1:46 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Woman left purse in the public bathroom 30 minutes ago,
Thursday, Aug. 19
4:56 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller on foot and a group of guys is wanting to jump him.
9:28 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Male walking around in an American flag swimsuit and a white baseball cap. Appeared to maybe be pacing in the road near the edge/ white fog line.
Friday, Aug. 20
1:37 p.m. — Empire Township — Large bone found the Lake Michigan shoreline by Empire Beach. (Referred to National Park Service.)
2:35 p.m. — Bingham Township — Man is removing rocks in front of caller’s home. Caller says this is an ongoing problem with neighbor. (Deputy spoke with neighbor, advising him to no longer remove rocks from property.)
3:32 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Campers in silver van from previous encounters. Owners do not want them trespassed but want it noted for the record that they had a confrontation with them.
9:54 p.m. — Bingham Township — Unconscious male laying in the road. Up now. Stumbling all over and not very happy the authorities were called. Male has been drinking but is compliant. Got on wrong wedding bus. Given ride to Elmwood Township.
10:16 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Red Lincoln SUV all over the road. Stop made. Hasn’t been drinking. Unfamiliar with the area and the squad car following behind her made her nervous.
Saturday, Aug. 21
12:08 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller believe she hears four people who might be in distress. Caller doesn’t see anyone because it’s too dark. Sounds like they might be in the water. It started about 30 minutes ago. (Deputy made contact with group of three juveniles. They will quiet down and leave the park.)
12:56 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Person laying on the sidewalk in front rock wall. Shouted at him but he didn’t respond.
4:57 a.m. — Empire Township — Male, approximately 15 years of age, wearing a red shirt. Appears to have been drinking. Caller is concerned he may jump out in front of cars. (Deputy spoke with subject. No issues.)
3:40 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Paddle boaters seem to be too far out. They don’t see to be in distress but the caller is concerned. (All persons accounted for. It was a planned excursion.)
4:11 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Elderly woman approached him. Confused about where Elm Street was. Caller would like someone to speak with her. (Husband arrived and helped her home.)
Sunday, Aug. 22
4:13 a.m. — Bingham Township — Caller woke up to a horn going off in the area. Sounded like it is coming from Co. Rd. 641. (Deputy responded. Homeowner disconnected the battery from the vehicle. Horn then stopped.)
7:36 p.m. — Bingham Township — Two-car accident with injuries. One vehicle hit a house.
8:12 p.m. — Leland Township — Subject was seen on caller’s property again. Subject has built another shrine like he did the last time.
9:25 p.m. — Centerville Township — Bear near house. Caller wants someone to scare it away.
Monday, Aug. 23
10:28 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Gray Chevy truck parked on caller’s property. Caller believes it belongs to someone working construction on house across the street. Caller has asked them numerous times to cease parking on his property. ( Caller will call back if he decides to have it towed.)
11:12 a.m. — Leland Township — Neighbor’s dog is constantly barking and running at large. Dog currently in caller’s driveway. Does not feel comfortable going to get her mail.
4:48 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller received a telephone call from someone saying there is a man lying in the grass between entrance and the highway.
5:17 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller at campground. Truck pulled in, then left. Caller followed it. Instead of leaving toward M-22, they went into a residential area instead.
5:48 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Arrest warrant served. Subject is hiding in the woods. Located subject with pings coming from his cell phone. Taken into custody.
7:26 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Subject was caught on video dumping a mattress and other debris at the recycling site north of the fire department.
10:33 p.m. — Solon Township — Man who keeps coming around caller’s residence and causing issues.
10:38 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Subject is violating probation. Wants officers to know that she is “holding them personally responsible” for sub- ject being out of jail. Caller believes he is staying at his own residence even though there is no electricity of water.
Tuesday, Aug. 24
9:29 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller’s boat was sprayed with something green last night whole anchored in the bay. Caller is concerned someone was doing something illegal on the shore.
10:59 a.m. — Empire Township — Vagrant hanging around the beach making caller nervous. Subject has long hair, jeans, a white and green shirt.
4:07 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Child drove a club cart with his mother in the passenger seat and a young girl in the back seat. Caller thinks it is child endangerment. (Mother has been advised of the law.)
5:16 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller has “no trespassing” signs on property. There was someone trespassing at 5:50 the previous night. Has them on camera.
Wednesday, Aug. 25
12:43 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Loud music coming from two balconies over. (Contact made. Subjects will be going to bed soon.)
