Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #62 Guests’ cars are covered in American cheese
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. Additional reporting by The Ticker.

Wednesday, Oct. 6
11:55 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Monday and Tuesday subject took a call from an unidentified number from U.S. Customs Bureau stated he opened 10 account. Caller had a southern accent.
3:17 p.m. — Leland Township — Pop up camper and campers on the road right-of-way. (Deputy found no one in the camper. Appears to be someone working in the area.)
5:07 p.m. — Solon Township — Caller “screaming” in reference to a lost dog. Black Lab/ hound mix. Wearing light color collar with a bow. Caller is dog sitting at her house, but is familiar with caller’s house. Dog doesn’t listen. (Subject called back. Was about to corral. The dog is back safe, inside.
5:22 p.m. — Empire Township — Rude customers driving white Audi using racial slurs. Subject departed northbound on M-22. White male. Late 40s, short hair. Wearing all gray.
Thursday, Oct. 7
10:33 a.m. — Leland Township — Utility is installing fiber optic line on caller’s property illegally. Thirteen acres. Has crossed the field.
1:55 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Guy pulled into driveway by house. Turned car off. Saw caller out back and took off and left. Driving an old El Camino. No plate obtained.
Friday, Oct. 8
11:39 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Dog got out during vehicle fire yesterday. Border collie-mix. Neutered male. Microchipped.
5:49 p.m. — Empire Township — Same subject is still calling the business threatening caller. Saying caller created an enemy and doesn’t know who he is dealing with.
9:29 p.m. — Solon Township — Caller reporting there are two vehicles in the parking lot of the church. She advised that it was strange because the lights were off at the church and one vehicle was parked behind the church.
Saturday, Oct. 9
6:07 a.m. — Centerville Township — Blue Honda van with no plate has been at road end all night.
9:31 a.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Guests’ cars are covered in American cheese. This is the third time this has happened. Cameras across the road may have video. Unwrapped cheese slices. Probably an entire pack this time around.
10:08 a.m. — Centerville Township — Dog on caller’s property. Denver, Colorado tags/ Setter breed. Phone number on tags comes back to Colorado vet.
7:34 p.m. — Elmwood Township — At approximately 6:30 p.m. a male came up to the house and was acting strangely. He told caller that he was an asphalt worker. Left when he heard the caller’s dog barking. Caller was concerned due to the subject leaving quickly without getting the caller’s information for a quote. Caller does not want to speak with a deputy. Just wants it noted for patrol information.
8:56 p.m. — Solon Township — German short-haired pointer and border collie missing. Both chipped, missing since about 7 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 10
12:32 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Someone knocked three times on the caller’s window. No vehicles. Didn’t see anyone. (Deputy responded. Unable to locate subject.)
1:09 a.m. — Kasson Township — Caller keeps getting messages from a number she does not know. Been happening since 10 p.m. previous night. (Perimeter of the house and the interior have been checked. Unable to locate anything.)
7:51 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township —Rowdy customer cursing and refusing to leave. Has been drinking. Getting into a black truck.
Monday, Oct. 11
9:46 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Tenants on lease are only ones allowed to be there. Nine other subjects are living there.
12:02 p.m. — Empire Township — Caller’s landlord is on property stating she needs entry and caller is trespassing. Was given notice but ran out of time. Offered to pay extra which she agreed to. Does not want to let her in. (Caller provided options.)
12:05 p.m. — Bingham Township — Black Tesla passed on double-yellow then drove slowly. When caller attempted to pass, driver sped up. Caller slowed down and the drive slowed down. Caller thinks this is reckless.
2:21 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller was practicing driving with son and he hit a road sign.
2:55 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Message from Volusia County, Florida. Attempt to contact and obtain a valid phone number. (State Police contacted the homeowners who said they think subject is in prison.)
3:55 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Theft at farm stand. Caller has camera up and has three instances of same woman taking produce and putting a couple quarters in the box. Two different vehicles — a white truck and white mini-van. (Subject admitted to taking items from the roadside stand. She is being issued a citation for larceny.)
5:46 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Black truck tried to “take out” caller. Was purposely driving slowly for caller to pass and then sped up.
9:20 p.m. — Kasson Township — Caller’s boyfriend has been drinking. Caller wants him gone. He threw a pizza.
