Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #64 Herd of about 20 cattle showed in caller’s yard
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. Additional reporting by The Ticker.

Wednesday, Oct. 20
12:05 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Received report someone unwelcome was trying to enter residence. (Verbal argument.)
12:51 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller reporting five minutes ago he saw “Flaming Wreckage” or meteors across the sky from south to north.
11:36 a.m. — Leland Township — Heard loud bang at 9:15 and back window was blown out.
2:19 p.m. — Leland Township — Subject blowing leaves into the roadway. (Law enforcement talked with subject and he will take care of it.)
4:14 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller reports a garage fire. (Homeowner is tending to a large brush fire. Advises he will be adding more brush later in case more calls are received.
Thursday, Oct. 21
6:58 a.m. — Bingham Township — Caller heard noise outside and watched subject ducking as cars drove by. (Subject standing by road. Law enforcement searched vehicle nothing out of the ordinary.)
10:40 a.m. — Empire Township — A check for $950 was deposited into account by unknown person. Contacted by Huntington to file police report.
11:28 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Tree fell across road and is blocking both lanes. (Will need chainsaws.)
1:03 p.m. — Solon Township — Caller reports husband injured after wood hit his head.
Friday, Oct. 22
12:03 a.m. — Leelanau Township — caller found a new fishing net that almost fell into the water. Took home and is putting up flyers to see if someone picks it up. (If not law enforcement will pick it up.)
7:46 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Female not supposed to have contact with the kids showed up at dentist appointment and is refusing to leave. (Female has left and caller doesn’t want to talk to law enforcement.)
2:18 p.m. — Empire Township — Chevy truck hit a deer.
9:07 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Someone is in backyard with flashlights. (Subjects tracking deer. Homeowner gave permission to look for deer.)
Saturday, Oct. 23
9:57 a.m. — Bingham Township — Neighbor is flying a drone over his house for third time today. Caller yelled at him and he got in his truck and left. (Manager of adjoining property and has drone operator’s license. Surveying land for a future vineyard.)
5:25 p.m. — Leland Township — Male keeps trespassing on property. Caller has him on trail cam. (Law enforcement spoke with subjects involved and will have informational report.)
8:35 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Intoxicated guest won’t leave. Chasing manager and yelling obscenities in parking lot. (Law enforcement made contact and trespassed subject.)
10:11 p.m. — Leland Township — A group of males outside knocked on door and then shouted. Caller can still hear them in the area. (Law enforcement spoke with homeowner who said they left 15 minutes ago. Unable to locate subjects. Will stay nearby to canvass.)
Sunday, Oct. 24
1:56 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Subject in all black being aggressive toward employees and customers. (Subject not being aggressive just being difficult.) Subject called stating he is at the casino and “someone put their hands on me” and he is “fearing for his life.” He is requesting someone “look at the cameras one time.” Subject has ride on way in 8 to 10 minutes. Law enforcement will standby. Video footage was reviewed and nothing physical occurred.
9:53 a.m. — Kasson Township — Herd of about 20 cattle showed in caller’s yard.
Monday, Oct. 25
9:08 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Injured fox on the side of the road.
2:16 p.m. — Bingham Township — Pontoon came off trailer and flipped.
3:46 p.m. — Suttons Bay — Female black lab mix with pink harness and leash at-large. Caller was walking dog on bike and dog pulled her down and she broke her collarbone. Caller en route to MMC. Dog will only come to her.
Tuesday, Oct. 26
4:56 a.m. — Kasson Township — Bully has been attacking house nightly. Caller thought he was smoke, but he is actually a vaper and even though the caller’s windows are closed the bully finds a way to blow the smoke into his house. Caller is unable to sleep and advises “this guy continues to evade his cameras because of his sophisticated camouflage clothing.”
Get vaccinated and mask up! There is a pandemic going on.
