Weekly Dispatch Blotter Highlights: Issue #65 Child stuck in chair
Throbbing Cabin is in Leelanau County whose local weekly newspaper, the Leelanau Enterprise, publishes the dispatch calls to 911. Additional reporting by The Ticker.

Wednesday, Oct. 27
6:51 p.m. — Bingham Township — Child stuck in chair.
Thursday, Oct. 28
12:11 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller hit “critter” of some kind. Damaged her headlight.
11:07 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller has a black calf missing since 3:30 a.m. Called back. Calf was found and did not appear to have been hit by car.
4:34 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller got home and the garage entry door from the garage to the house was ajar.
7:27 p.m. — Solon Township — Wife called stating she heard loud noises and the back door was open. He called back to say “disregard.” Pretty sure the wind opened the door.
9:46 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Suspicious male in vehicle parked at the side of the road. All lights off. He got very agitated when caller approached to ask if he was OK. Used vulgar language. Caller has seen him multiple times. (Male approached their house before and has asked about dogs.)
Friday, Oct. 29
12:47 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Young, “punk-looking,” male scoping out backyard. When he saw caller he ran off. Was short, slight build with short black hair and black clothes.
1:10 p.m. — Empire Township — Purse taken from vehicle at North Bar Lake. Only three cars in the lot when it happened. Possible suspect is a heavy-set male wearing a knit hat. Approximately 30 years of age.
4:37 p.m. — Leland Township — Someone following and stalking caller. Sits in front of caller’s house five or six different times. Black Ford Focus (older model). No plate. Caller believes it is ex. (Caller doesn’t know the suspect. They will try to get a plate next time.
10:03 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Several vehicle at Elmwood Township Park. Group of friends just talking per law enforcement.
Saturday, Oct. 30
11:38 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Young man at location causing trouble. Caller doesn’t know his name. He is trouble. He does not live at location. Caller believes he is wanted by the police. Property owner said his daughter is not at the residence nor has the subject.
2:30 p.m. — Centerville Township — Cutting trees on his and his brother’s property. Law enforcement contacted with tree crew hired to trim branches. Caller will contact and address his concerns.
8:41 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller received a message via Facebook which said if she stepped on (sender’s) property, she will be shot.
Sunday, Oct. 31
12:59 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller gave lots of compromising personal information to “Lending Tree” yesterday and he now believes he was scammed. No report at this time. If he gets more information that is in fact fraud, he will contact the Sheriff’s Office Monday.
8:25 p.m. — Leland Township — Three vehicle were driving around and throwing eggs at houses and hanging out at the park. No longer in the area.
9:02 p.m. — Centerville Township — Trespassing. There is a male that caller does not want at the property. He’s driving a black Impala. (Civil dispute over lease and contact.)
Monday, Nov. 1
7:16 a.m. — Cleveland Township — A car horn keeps going off somewhere in the area. (It was a school bus having a malfunction with the horn.)
11:53 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Someone is dumping black walnuts and trash on caller’s property.
1:24 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller found a gun in his father-in-laws’ house that he would like destroyed.
8:45 p.m. — Kasson Township — Son and two of his friends were trespassing on caller’s property. He has told then via text that they are not allowed on the property.
9:57 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Male threw caller out of his car and kept all caller’s stuff and drove off. Caller got a ride back to Suttons Bay. Male just showed up. He is currently at friend’s house in Lake Leelanau. (Spoke with caller, she is heading to Lake Leelanau to meet trooper. Caller has her property back. However, caller called back states he is now calling and threatening her. Male not on the scene. Caller advised to secure a personal protection order.)
Tuesday, Nov. 2
2:34 a.m. — Centerville Township — Caller is from the University of Michigan public safety. They have received several calls from subject. However, tonight seems to be more agitated than last time. No suicidal threats or statements. Male will be sleeping it off. Family members contacted for some help tomorrow.
